gold standard scam?

who here thinks that the gold standard is a scam by the elites to focus their opposition on an issue that benefits them? they hold all the wealth, they can control the world gold supply and they can get even richer if there is a gold standard. it did give them the excuse for fdr to steal the gold of america to give to the elites of his day.

If email notifications for games won't work, what about RSS?

It'd be nice to just subscribe to NoPantsJim.rss and get a feed for any game I'm involved with, assuming the server load from this isn't as bad as it apparently is for email.

Global message removal

I'm playing in http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=113480 (world wide gunboat!-28) and I can't figure out how to get rid of the opening global message. I click/double click on the unread message icon w/ no result. I go to the message archive and back. Anybody know of a way to remove it so I don't constantly see the reminder at the top of the screen? Thanks.

Why do zombies never use guns?

I understand they don't have weapons with them when they become undead, but surely they can pick up a gun from someone they just killed... That would make them much stronger, right?

Would have been a three way, but I as Turkey blundered into a solo... my mistake enticed The Czech to make a run by stabbing his ally PJMan, who in turn threw the solo to me... if only I had planned it that way.

TURKEY
by 1910, it looked like a three way with France holding the middle between England and Turkey.
HOWEVER, in 1911 I misplayed Moscow, yielding it to England, than misplaying England, letting him behind my lines into Sev. The Czech, seeing the opening, takes a run at a solo and stabs PJMan (France). I thought we were done, but I hold my own, and PJMan decides that The Czech must be punished for his transgression... he assists me in getting a solo and shutting out England, where I had no designs to make a run. I do believe I defended that Sev army pretty well, staving off an 18 count victory before achieving one myself....

The Czech, PJMan, share your view. Love to hear if TC was goaded into a solo run and PJMan decided to throw the solo to me as punishment...

Totally agree, was definitely expecting the 3-way. Czech did you have an eye on the overall score board or something? Was less of a throwing it, more that I thought if I didn't pull back Czech would solo, kind of played piggy in the middle knowing that one of you was going to take the solo....

Just wanted to drop in and apologize for the absurd number of NMRs I racked up. Been traveling, time-zone hopping and generally working a lot. Sometimes I'd duck out of a meeting or flight and log in only to see that the phase had just passed. Other times I'd promise myself to check in just before bed but then I'd pass out from exhaustion. Also my heart wasn't fully in it. Most of the time I wasn't even paying attention to the games and just entering whatever moves first came to mind. Now that I somehow got to the next round I promise to pick it up. Definitely not my proudest gunboat moments here.

I decided to go for it. I play for fun so I live large. It is only a game after all. I enjoyed it. Wish it had turned out differently.

And ya, I'm not happy with you ava. The NMRs really screwed up some games.
