Top-100 GR "World Map" Challange Game
I have not played a GOOD world game in a long time. I wonder if it is possible to have 17 out of the top 100 GR players join such a game. It would be quite a feat. This can be anon or non-anon and it should be 36 or 48 hours. WTA only. Indicate your interest inside (please post only if your Oct GR rating is 1 to 100)

The culture of canceling games
I think games get cancelled too readily on this site. Iif someone NMRs in the first year then by all means it is easier to start again. But a few years into the game I think you should just play it out. So what if someone else gets lucky because of a fortunate NMR or CD. It's only a game. And it is such a big investment of time and effort to call it quits with no result.

Tough question. I am not sure if I have ever seen anyone do it pre-1907 before.

@abge
That's not winning, that's just having everyone else resign
I'm guessing that was from a live game that was scheduled way too far in advance for the people who signed up for it, not realizing the time that it starts

That win by Jacob involved a critical CD by England...

there is a ftf game known as the immaculate concession: the game with all players present was conceded to a 14 center france in 1904, if memory serves me correct.
Imperator Dux (603 D(B))
16 Dec 11 UTC
It did serve you correctly; just looked it up
Jacob (2466 D)
16 Dec 11 UTC
Yes, my win involved an English cd. It was still a pretty darn fast game.
There are three 1905 wins on my profile, but none of them are by me and all involve huge amounts of CDs. There is a 1925 Draw game on my profile, from the summer gb tourney. Unfortunately, I was eliminated about 20 years before the game ended.

Autumn 1904 was a time of great celebration in my family's homeland (my mom is full-blooded Hungarian).
ghug (5068 D(B))

Look at the global chat, they accused him of being hellalt right at the beginning, they could just feel his power.
MadMarx (36299 D(G))
16 Dec 11 UTC
hellalt actually created the game, and the name he chose is the reason I joined the game, especially since I sometimes tell my competition to burn in hell on the global tab (but typically only after everyone is super sticky sweet with all the good luck wishes, and it's just as a joke of course, but I digress).

hellalt was actually Turkey, and our conversation to start the game was actually pretty interesting:

(To: You, from Turkey) - Spring, 1901: So, Austria, the dilemma at this point is always the same. Who's going to get Greece?

(To: Turkey, from you) - Spring, 1901: I've always been a fan of Greece, I have relatives in Athens and I'm certain they'd appreciate a visit since it has been a few years since I've seen them...

[I was totally joking, just reacting to the Turk's comment about Greece and throwing out some stupid "argument" for it, little did I know the Turk was hellalt and spoke Greek!]

(To: You, from Turkey) - Spring, 1901: Κι εγώ Έλληνας είμαι

(To: Turkey, from you) - Spring, 1901: uh oh

(To: You, from Turkey) - Spring, 1901: Άρα είσαι ο δεύτερος στο site...
Δεν είχα πετύχει άλλον ως τώρα...

(To: Turkey, from you) - Spring, 1901: all those letters look really cool, wish I could read them...

(To: You, from Turkey) - Spring, 1901: hey man i thought you said you had relatives in Greece, so I assumed you knew Greek :P

(To: Turkey, from you) - Spring, 1901: I was just joking around!!

Anyway, at that point I hadn't figured out I could copy and paste all that into an internet translator, and I thought it would be funny to copy and paste it onto the global tab, and that's when people thought I was hellalt, and apparently they bowed down to my every wish after that, damn, here I thought *I* got that victory so fast, all along it was hellalt!! :-(
ghug (5068 D(B))
16 Dec 11 UTC
Man, that's some serious strategy right there, making people think you were him so that you could win, with the end goal of you being his bitch out of gratitude later. No wonder he's the best...
MadMarx (36299 D(G))
16 Dec 11 UTC
Do not underestimate the brilliance of hellalt. Ever!
MadMarx (36299 D(G))
16 Dec 11 UTC
Honestly, that victory by hellalt should be on the record as 1904, by the time 1905 started, all hellalt needed to do was order his units into vacant supply centers for the victory, there was no resistance whatsoever...
ghug (5068 D(B))
16 Dec 11 UTC
What amazes me most is that he scared all of the powers furthest away into going CD, just to make things more difficult (he often gets bored due to lack of a challenge), and yet he was STILL able to overcome the odds and win by proxy.

"I had a really fast World map gameID=44929. At the end, i had just 3 vassels :)"
well, while looking at that game i noticed i haven't read a message yet :) (i'm in it too and we're both dutch so i didn't mind him to win... (well, actually, there was just nothing to do for me against it...))

On the FB dip page, before I joined this site, I wont a game in 1904 as Russia. That was quite a rush. But it did involve a Turkish player who NMR'd a few seasons if I recall.
