Top-100 GR "World Map" Challange Game
I have not played a GOOD world game in a long time. I wonder if it is possible to have 17 out of the top 100 GR players join such a game. It would be quite a feat. This can be anon or non-anon and it should be 36 or 48 hours. WTA only. Indicate your interest inside (please post only if your Oct GR rating is 1 to 100)

The culture of canceling games
I think games get cancelled too readily on this site. Iif someone NMRs in the first year then by all means it is easier to start again. But a few years into the game I think you should just play it out. So what if someone else gets lucky because of a fortunate NMR or CD. It's only a game. And it is such a big investment of time and effort to call it quits with no result.

I prefer a minimal bet (ie 5), but can do more.

Not that you asked, but my rationale is that if points aren't used as a proxy for player quality then they are more likely to stifle play than create incentives. For example, a large pot encourages me to take a draw instead of risk going for the solo win.

how do you explain this game: gameID=73190 ?
You (Germany) and Austria ignored that you were being attacked by France, England and Italy to focus only in destroying the weakest power in the board...that was me (Russia). I really had difficulty in understanding this attitude... and the fact is that the 3 of us were the 1st powers to get eliminated. What was the strategy? Santosh can say something too.

Troodonte: Going after you was a case of anticipatory retaliation for your eventual hijacking of this thread. :) Sadly, that's just a joke. Instead, I had made an early commitment to go East. France and England headed towards me and I gambled on at least one of them cutting me a break and forming an alliance with me. It did not work out that way. Then I was just trying to get a SC that would allow me to be a fulcrum point between powers and stay alive that way. That did not work out either. It was not my best game (and quite possibly my worst).
