I read somewhere that if a player misses 2 turns they are CD. Is this any kind of turn, including builds? What happens if they are CD, are they no longer in the game and anyone else can take their units?

Attn moderators: please cancel the game Adagio
I meant to set the turn length to 60 hours but it has turned out that the turn is 10 hours which is way too quick. Any chance you might be able to cancel this game so I can create another game with a slower turn phase. Please?

'Surviving'
I have clicked on my profile name and found out something interesting.
I have won one game (thank you CDers). I have lost one. I have 'survived' two.
Yet on both of my survival games, I have 0 SCs as I was totally wiped out by the power to get to 18 and take the Win. Now without wanting to downgrade my stats, this hardly ranks in my mind as 'survival'.
Are there any other anomalies in the stats like this?

tbh: 3.14159265358675309 is an ok number nothing wrong with it, it's just so close to such a beautiful number... it's sort of like a supermodel with a pimple on face.

On a side: Does anyone know of any boring numbers? I claim there are no boring numbers.

By itself, 2 is boring. It gets exciting when it's the base: 2^8, or an exponent: 8^2.

0 and 1 are far too important to be boring. With 3, you can do something with it. There are no two-legged stools. Holy Hand Grenades require a count of 3. Thou shalt not count 2, excepting thou go on to 3.

5 is right out.
sceptic_ka (100 D)
16 May 09 UTC
2: only even prim number ... as you said it's also a cool base ... it's the number of players in a chess game, the number of teams in a football game ... I could go on but I think you get it, 2 is very interesting.
figlesquidge (2131 D)

Na, I agree, I find two rather boring. It helps with a lot, but on its own is just rubbish. Oh, and as I've never done this before:
The number two: -1
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)

two +1

It is amazing. It is the exception to so many rules. Fantastic number.
Chrispminis (916 D)

TGM, I agree that it bothers me.

Also, two is a pretty good number. When I'm bored I double two's in my head. I think I've been up to around 2^40.

Twelve is much more flexible as a base than Ten. Sixty is of course even more flexible but it is rather cumbersome.
Alderian (2425 D(S))
16 May 09 UTC
Also, while 3.14159265358675309 may not be beautiful, it is quite interesting. It is symbolic of man, striving for knowledge and perfect understanding only to be sidetracked by a woman's phone number. I think it sums up so much of life so well. How about those apples?
sceptic_ka (100 D)
16 May 09 UTC
@Chrispminis: nice article... although I would disagree with their definition of boring, some of the most interesting concepts and phenomena take more than six words to describe.

@TGM - 'Alot' bothers me... a lot! Being a pedant, as well as both a linguist and relatively scientific, it all rather gets on my wick :-P

And to whoever said 2 is a boring number - sceptic_ka has it spot on: how can the only even prime be boring??
Captain Dave (113 D)
17 May 09 UTC
Although back to pedantry, I quite like the idea of a 'prim' number!

I', actually a fan of base 36 (0-9A-Z) as it can produce some really compression of very large numbers. Base 62 is also cool, but you got to keep the case straight.

Here is why I postulate that there are no boring numbers. Say for a given definition of boring, figle were to find a "boring number". Then that number would be figle's "first boring number", an interesting number, because it's his first. Therefor our assumption that figle found a boring number has too be falls.

Wow -- a username can ignite so much intellectual discussion. In this world of warlords, this name enlightens us like Rennaissance.

Maybe that why he draws Italy every time...
I'm surprised that nobody has introduced imaginary numbers into this discussion yet. Give it up for the theoretical square root of negative one... i !!

I play around with base 8 sometimes, since I stumbled across an article that makes a pretty good case for base 8 as well as interesting notation. It's extremely convertible to binary. =)
