Missing Player
In one of my games, we are missing a player, and the game is paused. I was hoping one of the Gamemasters could unpause it, or at least put the missing player in Social Disorder so we can replace him. Thanks in advance : )

What happens to a game that does not start with enough players?
If there's only 5 or 6 players, I know Italy and some other country start as CD.

But what happens if there's like...only two players? Does the game wait for more, or does it become a east vs. west game?

Players haven't logged in for 2 weeks
There's two players in this paused game that haven't logged in for over 2 weeks. Could we force a draw somehow?

So, how are points divvied up again?
Just won a game, http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8371 , where the pot was 50 points. For winning with 18 SCs, I was awarded 18 points.

I thought you were supposed to get most of the points in the pot if you won.

False advertising
It said, lysol kills 99.9% of all viruses and bacteria...
But viruses aren't alive anyway so how can you kill them?
Is this considered false advertsisng as they are saying they do something that they actually can't do. Can I sue them?

Quick rules question
Does a convoy cut support for an attack on a province supporting the convoy? Example:
Russia convoys Sev to Ank, supported by Arm
Turkey orders Ank to support Smy to Arm
Does everything bounce, or does Turkey take Arm?
kestasjk (95 DMod(P))

I think the adjudicator will make decisions something like:
"Will Smy move?"
-> "How much support does Smy have?"
-> -> "Will Ank provide support?"
-> -> -> "Is Ank being attacked (except by the unit it is supporting against)?"
-> -> -> -> "Does Sev have a path to Ank?"
-> -> -> -> -> "Is the convoy going to be dislodged?"
-> -> -> -> -> "Nope"
-> -> -> -> "Sev has a path to Ank"
-> -> -> "Ank is being attacked"
-> -> "Ank won't support successfully"
-> "Smy won't move"

But Smy would still bounce Arm, so Sev wouldnt move either, so yup it'd all bounce by my reckoning

they bounce.

if you're expecting turkey to do that, try moving armenia to ankara with support from black sea. that should win ankara, if turkey indeed does order that way.
If you are Russia and expect Turkey to support Ank into Arm with support from Smy to block your move from Arm to Ank with support from BSea, then convoy Sev to Ank with BSea and move Arm to Sev.

Thanks. I was worried because my version of jDip shows Turkey taking Armenia...
EdiBirsan (1469 D(B))

The support is cut, what is critical here is that the attack is coming from a place other than the target of the supported attack.

This example is sometimes confused with the following:

F Con-Bla
F Ank S Con-Bla
vs
A Sev-Ank
F Bla C Sev-Ank

In the example above the fleet is dislodged from Constaninople as the convoyed attack cannot cut the support for the attack on the convoying fleet.

Convoys are one the one area that generates the most tricky adjudications and confusion amongst experienced players.
I recently did a Diplomacy like game (Diplomacy of the Three Kingdoms) which did not have fleets and the rules are so much easier then.
Toby Bartels (361 D)

There are no paradoxes without convoys either. (Although I understand that these are mostly theoretical.)
figlesquidge (2131 D)

Well, I certainly haven't seen a convoy paradox arise in any of my games, although the code is suitable to deal with them.
Has anyone here hit the convoy paradox code, other than by deliberately *aiming* for it and agreeing with the other players
