Question: Is the "Republic vs. Democracy" thing just an American thing?
I've heard Americans talk about how "America is a republic not a democracy". Using the standard definitions of those words it doesn't make any sense, however if you use the ridiculous definitions those people come up with than it is true. Does anyone outside of the US use this ridiculous dichotomy or is it just Americans?

People You Know
So, when it comes to friends and family, one should only play password protected games with them. But what about people I am meeting at face to face games in clubs in my state? What about if I start getting involved in the tournament scene? How do the more experienced players on here handle it? At what point does it become inappropriate to play in public games with people you have met through the game?

Question.
Just curious no real reason for asking but I thought mods were suppose to notify you why they locked your threads? I mean how can people learn what they did wrong (if anything) if they don't tell us?

Forum abuse
So should a player be allowed to go in the back catalogue and get threads locked out of spite? just wondering no reason. I mean it's just when that starts happening doesn't the forum start to look like a warzone?

Brain, why are you surprised at getting backlash when you admitted to purposely trying to rub people the wrong way with the Trump thread you made?
I'm so confused by you sometimes.

That's an interesting hypothetical situation CommanderByron. I would say that if someone did not send the mod team an email saying they were offended when they saw a thread then they probably lost the right to complain about it at a later date. It'll be curious to see what happens if that situation ever occurs.

Whilst accepting the mods right to lock threads, I can't see how the thread in question was abusive or derogatory to liberals. It made an allegation and gave a source. It didn't say or imply all liberals are thieves.

So brain admitted to purposely trying to offend people in the forums? and he ISN'T silenced?

ahhhh....how delightfully hypocritical. I have ahd private conversations with mods before in which I have questioned them as towhy they allow Liberals around here to be openly offensive and don't do anything about it.

There excuse, of course, is that "nobody complained about it....so they don't do anything". As if they are incapable of determining "abusive" content. Which is complete and utter bullshit, because we *know* that mods tell people ot shut up and lock threads without first getting whiner requests to do so. And if they are incapable of determining abusive content without first being tipped off...then they pretty much suck as mods, wouldn't you say?

But now the unique case of a **highly** offensive liberal who constantly badgers people who OPENLY confesses to violating the rules in that he attacks people and purposes attempts to offends them....and he's left along, not silenced?

lol Well, WebDip mods never let us down, do they. they behave *precisely* as anyone with common sense would expect them to, right? biased....

No offense, of course, to the lovely mods around here who have a total shit job trying to wrestle with the local idiots (of which I, of course, am one). I'm not actually suggesting they do anything to brainbomb - because generally speaking conservatives aren't a bunch of whiners who feel the need to silence their opposition, as liberals do....so leave poor wittle bwainbomb alone...

It's just amusing to see the blatant hypocrisy played out right before our eyes.

@"they[the mods] allow Liberals around here to be openly offensive and don't do anything about it.
"
Maybe they don't find the things some liberals say to be that offensive. Cause liberals are all bleeding heart fluffy loverly bunnies.

Or the mods views align generally with your so-called liberals. (Which fyi, you use in such a way as to change its meaning to 'people i don't like' and i'm not sure that is a political position...)

i'd like to remind you (and the mods) that angry ideas feed off each other. Let me find the link...

"Maybe they don't find the things some liberals say to be that offensive. Cause liberals are all bleeding heart fluffy loverly bunnies."

1. That's personal preference. Mods should be neutral
2. Wholly shit, don't even know how to respond to that.

@krellin, Brainbomb's thread was silenced, and from how butt-hurt he seems I would guess he got a warning from the mods. Because that's how it works, people get a warning before being silenced. If he continued to post lockable threads then you can safely assume he'll be silenced.

What's funny is we all *know* that if he'd been silenced you'd be bitching right now about mod abuse of power and silencing someone without a warning.
ssorenn (0 DX)
17 Oct 16 UTC
Mods certainly will Have a personal bias, but in making decisions on locking threads or taking action against members, the should(I would hope) be neutral

Question
in a recent poll 7% of Americans value the continuity of government by supporting Gary Johnson for president. The other 93%? well they are split between a Guinea pig mounted atop a racist cantaloupe; and a half robot, half human she-devil.
