Ohio State is a solid lock to get upset today

Vegas has them as +10 favorites vs Wisconsin in Madison. Ohio State hasnt played anyone worth a crap yet. I look for a low scoring game, Wisconsin wins 17-13.

Would anyone be interested in a Diplomacy Stream?

I recently got the version of Diplomacy published by Paradox Interactive (the studio that made Europa Universalis and similar games) working on my pc. I'm wondering if anyone would be interested in watching me stream a game or two vs the AI at some point (with commentary)?

Why no messages setting option?

Why is aviable the no messages setting? I think is against the essence of the game, that's diplomacy. Nevertheless this option is very common. I think Diplomacy without diplomacy is like basketball without basket (or ball if you prefer). What do you think about it?

Question of Electoral Ethics

For the district where I'm registered to vote, the US representative seat is only being sought by one person. By Oklahoma state statute, unopposed candidates don't even appear on the ballot, nor is there the opportunity to write-in a candidate. Do you think the name of unopposed candidates should be printed on the ballot?

I don't think the measures being used to have a more welcoming forum with decorum are causing "enormous problems" or even "serious problems ".
I think the greatest single cause of any " problems " are a vocal minority opposed to reforms that were necessary, I also think they distort the issues linking "thread closures" to politics etc
My view is perhaps uninformed, anecdotal ? but most of the threads I've seen closed in recent times have been obviously "pestilential" ...advertising shonky id / licenses, or started by someone rubbed out for cheating,etc
The very few I've seen shutdown of the " inflammatory / malicious / libellous " type clearly deserved it.

A suggestion I would make to those who want to have "controversial issues" discussed, is that the more controversial the idea being expressed is, then the greater the need to use moderation in language.

Another suggestion is to remember this site is for playing Diplomacy, and the forum serves the needs of the site, the forum is not here to provide a place for expression for "anyone to say anything, including the offensive" Find an alternative Internet site chit chat location that allows what is not allowed here is the course of action for the complainers here..not demanding a forum with less decorum, that our forum change

/\ The idea that the forum is not somehow integral to the success of the site is naive in the extreme. If I just want to "play diplomacy", then, as has been pointed out in the past, there is absolutely nothing unique about this site that makes it better than other sites to "play diplomacy". If anything, the site is more limited and archaic than what is offered elsewhere, is my understanding.

We get it Major - you don't like certain people/topics on teh forum...blah blah blah same old complaint...we want "nicety nice forums" yadda yadda yadda.

The forums here ARE the unique aspect of this site....or at least used to be.

Diplomacy via Whatsapp in German or English

Hey guys, so a group of players from a German site came up with the idea of creating a gunboat game, exchanging phone numbers and communicate solely via whatsapp. I though that the idea is pretty cool and would love to try it out.

Full Press Explanation

I searched the rules and the faq. I may be dense. I cannot find an explanation of what full press means. Also, is it illegal to send a PM to one of the players in a game if the players are not anonymous? For example, if I see the deadline ticking down and my ally hasn't put in orders, may I send her a PM to alert her that she might miss the turn?

Unranked games have counted towards GR

Hey just wanted you guys to know that GR has been broken for a while now, with unranked games being counted towards GR since it's been integrated.

Do not worry, I've already contacted the mods, and they are working feverishly to fix the problem and it should be fixed by the next GR update, but I felt that all of you should know. Hold on one second while I get my proof for this.
