I don't have one either...well, I do, but I don't use it, I think I posted one comment on it once, over the course of its year or so existence (and that was just to congratulate someone.)
Maybe it's off-topic, but if we're talking social media...
I vastly prefer Facebook to Yahoo or Twitter or any of that.
50 or so friends on FB, plus whatever composers and authors and movies I have liked, so it's 1. People I actually know (and by "know" I of course mean actually KNOWING THEM, *NOT* "Oh, I met you at a party for 5 minutes, that sounds like a strong foundation to friend you and spill all my personal-if-pointless shit to you") and 2. Stuff I actually like.
For me, that's good. That's fine. It's a good way to stay in touch with friends you might otherwise lose due to distance and whatnot. Anything else...just....just no...about the only exception to that is when the Arab Spring and then the latest (how sad is it I have to qualify it that way?) Israel/Hamas mini-war broke out, I looked over and commented on some of the pages pertaining to those conflicts because, hey, it's history in motion, I'm interested what people have to say who are actually there and interested in even adding my voice to that discussion a bit, and in our day and age, social media is how that's done.
Twitter...just...
It's like those gossipy high school girls everyone had the misfortune of knowing...
Only now they number in the millions, are louder, more obnoxious, are given increasing credence by ACTUAL media, and they range from "Who the fuck cares that you just fucked your girlfriend and are eating a sandwich?" to "Well, YOUR career just took a hit thanks to that stupid post!" to "WOW you're a vile, vicious human being, aren't you?"
:/
