@semck83:
Thanks, though I don't think it is just a mental block thing...
I'm not really putting myself down when I say I'm bad at math, or searching for sympathy:
But hey, when I'm as freely verbose and outspoken as I am, PARTICULARLY on matters where I repeatedly champion "intellect" and "merit" as being the answer...
I'd seem to be something of a hypocrite if I didn't own up to the field where I'm lacking in those facets and faculties. :)
My SISTER is the Math major, she's the one with the TI-84x calculator and she took Calculus B/C before graduating HS, and just now starting college is doing even more math...
On the flip side, she took one English class and was done (she did well, just not her thing, all the writing and exploring abstract themes and especially all the talking...she's like an inversion of all my characteristics.) :)
That's just how it goes--
Maybe I'll figure it out, in old age, but for now, I really just want to get done with Stats and just take my PoliSci and English classes and maybe a language class.
It's just a different way of thinking, and for whatever reason--and my sister's actually probably smarter than I am, I've said it before to her:
"Janie" I said--not her real name, for obvious reasons--"Janie, you know, you're sort of like Mycroft Holmes to my Sherlock...they both admit Mycroft's the smarter one and the more reserved one, but Sherlock has more energy and is far more aggressive in his line of work..."
"Bill,"--again, not my name--"please...I do not care."
;)
