Sorry, I was really enjoying it, and also doing quite well, but we ended up pausing for so long that the game was hard to get back into. Everyone seemed at best indifferent and at worst very reluctant to continue, so we cancelled.

I'll write more later if those in the game show interest, but I was Russia.

R was dominating that game. Everybody was indifferent or reluctant? Oh, com'on. It seems like that happens too often in a big pot game and some people don't do well, but I was not privy to anything.

I was Austria and frankly lucky to get my points back. From my memory, Italy opened Lepanto. Russia and Turkey got together and then Italy also moved against me. He wasn't happy that I covered Tri in A01. My strategy was then to defend against Italy, so that he gained as little as possible. Turkey lied about most moves, but was very engaging through it. Russia took advantage of my weakness, although I'm not a big fan of Austro-Russian alliances from the Austrian perspective. All were clearly top quality players, but we then had a Pause and everyone just seemed to lose interest. So Cancel it was.

I was England *I suspected you were Russia from the start Dave* and I am assuming you were France zultar? I for one are barely paying any attention to the ongoing games I have right now because I am starting my own business. But, like I said in global I barely had a year or two left so it would not had made much of a difference if I had been more active and would had finished the game if everyone wanted to do so.

Anyway, the pauses really affected the game, Italy was having time issues and most were more silent than at the beginning. Could had been that no one wanted to talk to me anymore though lol.

It is been a while since I checked on the game due to the long pause, but was France doing well before it was canceled?
I was not in the game. I was just interested in it.

I was Turkey and it was really a pleasure to play with Dave, martin and whoever is Italy. Frankly I didn´t do proper diplomacy with the western powers, as I am really short on time lately. Martin, most of the time I don´t inted to lie to you, but it was inevitable :-)

Dave is a brilliant diplomat and I have a felling he is the one pushing the strings all around the map......

I wasn´t doing bad, but the game drop the diplomacy level after the long pause (and I have my share of fault), so I don´t mind canceling.

I had a good alliance with Turkey all the way through, although he really put me in a difficult position at several points! I'd be interested to think what was going through his mind in the year when he tapped Rum (unannounced!!!) in Spring, but in fall supported himself to Greece against Italy. :)

Italy I initially bonded with very well indeed. He's very very convincing and analytic in his diplomacy. I really thought we'd pull off a strong R-I for several years. After he lied to me though (scarily the same turn Turkey tapped Rum and Austria and England both also lied!) and I heard a few suspicious things from 3rd powers, I figured he had probably been bullshitting me, and wanted to take him down.

England and I never got on well (sorry guak!!). We never really recovered my my northern fleet build. I want to commend him though for dealing with a poor starting situation very well.

I felt Austria was often too self-serving and not talkative enough to ally with. Germany was initially talkative but increasingly not so. He allowed me a good deal in Scandinavia, and offered me gains in England, so I stuck with him. I was about to stab him actually.

France seemed like a good player. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to work together.

I did suspect that some people might have been less keen on canceling if they'd had more SCs, but in the end, the game really had lost a lot of interest. Its unfortunate, but oh well.

Haven't read this through yet, but my initial instinct is this: zultar, please mind your business and don't tell people what they should and shouldn't be doing. I am tired of you commenting on every game that I play. Trying playing yourself once and a while.

I was Italy, don't remember everything but will comment on what I do:

As Italy, I usually try and work with Turkey or Austria. I had OK talks with both but ultimately Austria tended to be someone autocratic while Turkey took a more cooperative approach with me. For this reason i ended up moving with Turkey against Austria. We had a very good opportunity, in my opinion, and Turkey lead me on a turn and then stabbed. My impression was his stab of me took him way out of position w.r.t. Russia and had the game continued, I believe he would have been vulnerable. He obviously saw something different.

Austria, sorry we had to come to where we did. I know you didn't understand my reasoning in game but hopefully it is more clear now. Obviously nothing personal.

Russia, I tried to play things cool with you but I got the impression right from the start I could not work with you. You were too calm and collected and from that I smelt danger. Probably this isn't fair either.

This is likely the highest level of play I have been a part of. It seems like one mistake makes you toast for the rest of the game. Thanks for the opportunity, all.

I really wish we hadn't paused for so long. I was enjoying the game despite the pauses but I am really busy with work at the moment and wasn't planning on being in a ton of games this time of year. I appreciate everyone respecting this, although, I was ready to play through.

I should also say to Martin and Dave, it was a pleasure getting to play you both for the first time. I think there may have been one other new face in there as well but I cannot remember who.

Ok, dude, I will stay the hell out of all your games. I did not know know who was in this game. I was merely interested in the game. Most of the time people have welcomed others' input into their games, but apparently, I am unwanted in your circle. And I am not sure what the hell I said that was rude or inappropriate. In fact, I have learned a lot about Diplomacy and its players by commenting on EoGs and talking to people in private, but dude, if you are suck a dick, I will stay away from every single game that I know you play in.

To others who were in the game,
I apologize if my questions and statements were judgmental. I tend to learn not to repeat my mistakes, at least not with the same person and in the same circumstances. If what I said here did indeed irritate any of you, PM me and let me know. Thanks.
