lol. I just meant in the first 3 games, though if I'd taken the win in G4 (which I easily could have) that obviously would have done it.

Cool! 75 for winning B1! Of course, I was playing to get into A league, which I did. Time to kick some of their butts. Unfortunately, Crazyter is on a leave of absence from WebDip (and she would have moved up to Premiere anyway).

You seem to have done well enough against her this time fort. Not well enough to beat her, but well enough to get third.

she kicked ass if i recall correctly... but that is partly due to failures, at least my own failures in game 1... of course the two of you kicking my ass consistently didn't help much either...

@patizcool, we're looking at restructuring the league levels a bit this next season. If I can get my act together we can get the next season started in October. So not too late.

@Alderian, i recall parts of the discussion, but i don't recall the conclusion. What sort of restructuring has been decided?

I'm pushing for a 14 person premier (combined premier and A), 14 person A (combined B1 and B2), and then multiple 14 or 7 person Bs depending on the number of players. Others were wanting bigger pools.

While I'm currently in charge of the league, I don't feel it is entirely my call to make. I intend to make a post and send out emails to survey everyone.

I like the 14/14/14xmany breakdown. It means that my promotion to the old A puts me in the same 14 group (the new premier) as Crazyter and I would just love to drop her to the bottom of that tier. hehehe

Can anyone explain why he was placed in the C League despite it being his first time participating while I was placed in the D League and it was also my first time participating?

Realistically, the position for new entries has been based between openings in C and D based on GR. Additionally, a fill-in of a decent GR due to an abandonment mid season could have resulted in his getting the C league spot.

Ah ok. I think when the Leagues started, I hadn't yet had my first GR rating so that might be why then?

I got promoted to C mid-league play to replace Barn3tt. Lando probably had the same thing happen. (As for why us and not you? idk what process the tourney organizers used to determine who to ask, but I was just asked via email and accepted.)

My understanding is mid league promotions are also based on GR.

Mid league, my GR was higher than Lando. My first GR rank was in the twenties.

But, it's fine - I just wondered. Is there any chance then, that I would get bumped so I could join Eden and Lando in the B League? It would be a shame to miss the fun/challenge.

I doubt they'll know now. There's been serious talk of restructuring the whole thing, and I remember a lot of strife in the Premier League over the format of the tournament. There could be a lot of people dropping (which in theory should create the opening for promotions like yours).

How did you do in the leagues this year, Sarg? Did you come in third or a strong second but not quite good enough to get the automatic promotion? If so, you should have no problem moving up. Did you come in last?Tthen there will be other promotions ahead of yours.

I won my league, League D3.
I also got the most points and centers of all players in League D1,2,3.
I also obtained the most centers of anyone in the entire Winter Tournament.

In fact, the only accolade I did not get was most points, which was won by Dejan0707 who earned himself 29 .

But seriously, I doubt you will be in the new equivalent of C-league (P+A=P, B=A, The rest = B) as you will probably get a double promotion off of that with absentee spots to at least then new A (former B) I would think.

LOL! No, you came in 4th in overall points (I was 3rd) and you got those against lesser players than the Premier folks. Hell, this 14 player Premiere league scares the fuck out of me, but it should be fun.

I don't believe uncertainty should prevent us from trying a new format.

I would propose that detailed opinions of what a new format will be like should be deferred until after the first season. Then if it was really bad we can always revert to the old system, if it is really good we can enjoy our awesome new system, and if it still has overall a large number of 'meta'/league gaming issues we can try changing it again. (and i have to say, i am under the assumption that if you choose to play in a 14 person league then your main aim is to end that season as the top player in that league, not GR or points or best result in any given game... also points as a reward for the top three players may make things a little bit more interesting...)

on the other hand, with merging of the A and P leagues i will really have my work cut out... I wasn't able to beat last season's A leaguers, how am i supposed to beat the P leaguers?? let's go!

I believe I was slotted into the C league because there wasn't enough returning players to even fill all of its the spots. I started there and was told initially it was allocated based on who signed up first.

The season before the season before last there were 5 leagues for a total of 12 groups for 84 players. The season before last there were 4 leagues for a total of 11 groups for 77 players.

For this last season there were quite a number of non-returnees for various reasons so there were openings in the C league for new players and every spot in the D league were new players. I'm not sure why gjdip did it first come first serve for the C league rather than based on GR. Perhaps to encourage sign ups since it was looking bad early on.

And we only had 3 leagues for a total of 10 groups for 70 players. We're hoping some restructuring will get some former league players to come back and keep more of last season's players rather than continuing to dwindle.

Those were supposed to be the letter D, not the points symbol.
