Do convoy moves cut support?
If you convoy an army to unit that is occupied by enemy, say London is convoyed to Belgium and Belgium is occupied by France. If Belgium is supporting Holland does the convoy move cut support ?

The Top Ten Greatest Storis Ever Told (NO RELIGIOUS TEXTS!)
Simple- if right now you had to choose ten books or movies, cover to cover, as the best and most important and telling of man ever... what would you choose? From 10 to Big Number 1, what and who makes your list? (No religous texts- it just makes this a battle of religions... let's not have that AGAIN... can CONTAIN religious references, but no Bible, Koran, etc. OK?)

Interest in a speedy game?
Is anybody interested in a live game this afternoon (soon/imminently)? I'd be up for a 5 minute gunboat game or a ten minute diplomacy game, reply with which you'd prefer and maybe we'll set something up!

The Greatest Stories NEVER Told!
Which great stories would you like to hear, but never will? Were they destroyed, never written, impossible? Who cares! What would you like to read?

Inspired by obiwanobiwan, but with a bit of a twist. What great stories would you like to read, but either were never written or are no longer extant. So I guess not never told, exactly, but not around currently.

As I mentioned in the other thread, I wish we had the entirely of Livy's Ab Urbe Condita still around. As for something never written, I would like The Gospel of Jesus and autobiographies of Agathocles of Syracuse and Cyrus the Great.
Tolstoy (1962 D)

I'd like to know what really happened in the Bronze Age Collapse.

Me too Tolstoy. Or a full history of ancient South American civilizations, told in detail. That would be fascinating.

I would go along with Carl Segan and like to travel back in time to see what was in the Great Library of Alexandria

I take it you don't just mean write the best new novel then?
Historically the period/event I'd most like to learn about but haven't got round to hear about would be either the Minoan civilization or the dark ages (which I presume are ignored because the first didn't leave such visible monuments as the Greek civilisations that soon followed, and the second because the British were a nothing nation - and our history courses tend to skip over those sections!).

Would be very interesting indeed to read an accurate account of The Council of Nicaea.

I like all above There are great gaps in are knowledge of human history that ache to be filled. I'd like to see how the humans migrated across the planet and formed current linguistic and culture groups. Than there is seeing how we became human.
I'd like to read *good* stories by Tom Clancy. You know, like the ones he used to write back when he was good (Red October, Red Storm Rising, Without Remorse) rather than the boring ones he produces these days.

For me it would have to be the seventh and final book in Frank Herbert's Dune series. Damned selfish of him to die before he could write it, and the tripe written by his son supposedly based on his notes was truely dire. In a similar vien it would have been nice to read the Salmon of Doubt by Douglas Adams. Alas, it will never be.

"Around the World in 82 days" is supposed to be a literacy masterpiece and was apparently awaiting publication when the inferior "Around the World in 80 days" was released. The former got pulped as the publisher just didn't think there would be a market.

It is rumoured that a missing piece from the dead sea scrolls was unearthed years after the main body of text were discovered but as it contained something along the lines of.."The following work is a work of fiction and any resemblancies to persons living or dead is entirely coincidental"....it was quickly burnt.

I agree with tolstoy: the bronze age collapse, the sea people (in possible combination with semitic tribes), the diplomatic relations betwen egypt, mittani, phenicia, mycenas, the hitite kingdom and the possible connection of all this with the troyan wars

Bad Language in games
Bad language complaints keep coming through the mod email, and as you know our policy has been to leave this up to people.
Would it be worth the effort/practicality to add a "Polite" option to game-setup?
