Its a live game dude - most people will not be around to start it immediatley if they know that its supposed to start in 90 minutes.
At 5 minutes per phase, you would be more then halfway done with the game before all your players got there.

And you can't leave the game once 7 people have joined...

well, how come on Olidip live games start now as soon as 7 players join- thats why i joined... and now i wont be here, and i will lose points etc.... thats hardly fair. Olidip is better!!!

Its different for games that aren't "live" because its more likely that the players will check back before the first, 20th for that matter, phase is over.
I personally prefer it this way.

besides, you are at less then 100 , so the points that you lose in games until you are over 100 will be refunded to you.

ok, well, i'm disgusted. i do hope olidip is around for a long time since its got better set up. i mean when uu receive a message from another player, u get a red msg icon saying PM... this site doesn;t have that either, and next process cycle is irrelevant in live games there- thats the whole point of a live game.
Having it start in say 90 mins just ensures theres less chance of it running out of time before all spots are filled.

People were having an issue with the 7th player in a live game joining and the game starting without them knowing. I'll agree that this system could be advertised better, but I think it makes more sense overall.

You're under 100 , so you're not going to lose any points because of this. If you're worried about going CD, the mods would probably be happy to cancel the game because of the confusion.

As to Olidip. It is being used as a test site for this site, so of course there will be some new features; there will also be new bugs. The improvements in olidip will eventually make their way here.

It's just a game AND it's free. Chill out.

I was in that game and came out with a 17-17 draw in gunboat.I think that is rare for gunboat.As for the start time read when it will start and know that if 7 people join that's when it will start.People have other things on the go and join a game for when they are to commit the time to play it.
By the way mel thanks for missing turns and reappearing in later phases cost me my solo.Also my bone head move to apuila instead of tyr sea would have had control of med instead of stand off with france.
