What do you English football fans think of the whole Tevez - Neville drama?

As an Arsenal fan I think its hilarious. I think its an interesting example of where a serious power-play went wrong.
Tevez wanted lots of money.
United didn't want to pay lots of money, so they said they wouldn't match his demands.
He stuck by his guns.
They didn't expect this, so near the end backed down, admitted defeat, and offered him a very good offer. However, in trying to get him to reduce his position they'd shown they don't care as much as he wanted, so he left.

Personally the actual issue isn't a big thing for me, fans are always disappointed when former-players play against them, and Gary Neville is a fan as well. Besides, he's been given official warnings before for things he's said against other teams. In some ways its nice to see someone who's actually passionate about their club.

I've always wondered, why do Americans refer to their game as "football" when there is no contact between foot and ball except for kick-offs and field goal / conversion attempts?

Regarding Neville: after two previous warnings, I cannot see why he has not been penalised this time, financially. It sends a very poor signal to kids.

Tevez? I do not think he has done anything wrong at all and hope he can remain above the matter by producing the goods on the pitch.

Benitez? Well, he has to get that Champs League place or he will not last. It is not in the hands of the supporters. Personally, I like him but think he took too much onto his shoulders when he split from his former assistant after a row. The argument with Sir Alex F is just a sideshow.

And those from the USA know zilch about football. IMHO.

Its a good thing the arsenal squad aren't so vindictive though, because we come up against former players so frequently!
Penalizing Neville: yeh, not sure about that either.

For order and disciplin I think the biggest issues are to:
a) Allow 1 player at a time to question the referee's decision. In rugby this is the captain, but that's just impractical in football - the captain may be at the other end of the pitch. Rather, allow 1 player to calmly ask for an explanation, and make it a yellow-card offence for another to complain.
b) Allow video evidence. Oh yes, it still hasn't happened but video technology could help in so many ways, both for goalline, extreme challenges and events off the ball.
c) Related to (b), increase the powers of the governing body to make decisions after a game has finished, including overturning cards, or suspending players for events the referee did see but judged incorrectly.
