Being Europe on the world map sucks
There's only one SC you can get, every one of your neighbors can force two, and France is incredibly vulnerable.

Anyone else think this game was odd?
http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=19044
Seems like an oddly strong alliance between England/France/Italy for an Anon, no private message game... Especially considering France had troops next to both of the others' home SCs and not only did he not move in, but the others didnt even try defending them....Or am I paranoid?

who wins?
ok lets say that germany has an army in bur. and bel. then there's a french army in paris and pic. paris orders army paris-bur. ,then army pic. supports army paris-bur but at the same time germany orders bel.-pic. army bur supports army bel. to pic. so again who wins, do they switch places or is everything jus a stand off -please reply-

The move from Bel to Picardy would cut the support, leaving only Paris attacking Burgundy. If Burgundy doesn't move out of the territory, then it bounces.

If you change this up to Germany ordering Bur - Pic with support of Bel, and the same orders as above for France, then Germany moves into Pic, France moves into Bur, and A Pic is displaced.

It is 2 vs 2 and it all bounces. All the units remain where they started.
kingarmy1 (100 D)
14 Jan 10 UTC
isn't it a 1 vs 1 for all armies there by not being able to move?
Darth (137 D)
14 Jan 10 UTC
It's a bounce. Bel cuts picardy support paris cuts burgundy support.
kingarmy1 (100 D)

yeah thats what i sorta thought right?
ottovanbis (150 DX)
15 Jan 10 UTC
you guys are all wrong. you are forgetting an important rule, you CANNOT CUT THE SUPPORT OF A UNIT SUPPORTING AN ATTACK ON YOUR UNIT, when this mostly unknown rule is applied burgundy fails to cut support from picardy and therefore is taken from paris in a 2v1, paris moves to bur and bur retreats
moses (124 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
that would be correct
except that belgium is cutting the support, not burgundy
if it was bur-pic, then yes, burgundy wouldn't be able to cut the support
but it is bel-pic, so that move cuts the support from picardy for par-bur
it's a standoff
nobody moves
Darth (137 D)
15 Jan 10 UTC
Moses is right. I tested this out multiple times on jDip and its a complete standoff.

"CANNOT CUT THE SUPPORT OF A UNIT SUPPORTING AN ATTACK ON YOUR UNIT"

Bug in World Map Variant Game
Saudi Arabia cannot move to the Red Sea, though it appears on the South Coast.
Either there's a graphical error (it technically should be on the north coast) or some coding error. Thanks.

World Dip Map with all players starting in EUROPE
Like it says, I had this idea the other day while going to sleep: how about a regular vanilla Diplomacy map (with a few alterations) surrounded by a map of the rest of the world? About 95%+ of the territories outside the original standard Dip map would be unoccupied, except perhaps for one or two isolated colonies for each Great Power.

Do games only start now at the specified time? Usually, once seven people join the game starts, but recently i've noticed that hasn't been happening..

Mods please look at this
gameID=19044

Check the behavior between France, England and Italy. They all joined right in the last minute and never made any true advances on one another. I believe that it is only fair to cancel the game and give everyone their bets back. I can't stand playing with these cheaters. And when confronted about it, the response from England was "no habla ingles"
