Being Europe on the world map sucks
There's only one SC you can get, every one of your neighbors can force two, and France is incredibly vulnerable.

Anyone else think this game was odd?
http://www.webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=19044
Seems like an oddly strong alliance between England/France/Italy for an Anon, no private message game... Especially considering France had troops next to both of the others' home SCs and not only did he not move in, but the others didnt even try defending them....Or am I paranoid?

I'm in a 1919 game right now. =) But 1995? That is one long war.

This comes up so often. My longest is 1933, but thats pre-draw: we sat at a stalemate for weeks.
I remember hearing about one still going strong into the 1940s?
kingarmy1 (100 D)

it would be hilarious if one made it up to 2010 we'd still be at war today
Sendler (418 D)

wtf 1995
how does that work
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=263
what is weird that all resigned
and sadly you can not see if that game really did last that long since no orders can be found or history, maybe it was a glitch?

then the next oldest game with orders I find is this one:
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=4650 and here until 1927 everybody was only holding!!! TZ so its only 23 years of gameplay

next game with orders i find is: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=2898&viewArchive=Orders where austria and england are just holding for ages

the first game which I find to be legitimate (by my own "standards") is http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=8051 which seems to have normal gameplay up to 1937 and then ends with a win

I also quote Ghostmaker, "The very old games were extended by the absence of the draw option." from that thread Tantris sent.
So that would explain those very old game, that do not have orders saved atm.

So who can beat 1937! ;)

made a new game: http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=19084
if you want to join pm me, or post here i will send you the password!

only people who have played quite alot so i can trust them!
the goal is to hold or move only back and forth, but not gain any scs or attack anyone
until 2010, then we start the game!
so this will take a while, we have to pause alot to for people on holidays, but maybe we can make it to 2010 this year if people finalize as much as possible!!

*i know its a cheap record, and doesnt count by my "standards" but what the hell, its still a record even not for a normal game^^

I think some of those older ones are also due to a lack of a pause option, so everyone just agreed to not do any moves for however many years and then resumed.

Bug in World Map Variant Game
Saudi Arabia cannot move to the Red Sea, though it appears on the South Coast.
Either there's a graphical error (it technically should be on the north coast) or some coding error. Thanks.

World Dip Map with all players starting in EUROPE
Like it says, I had this idea the other day while going to sleep: how about a regular vanilla Diplomacy map (with a few alterations) surrounded by a map of the rest of the world? About 95%+ of the territories outside the original standard Dip map would be unoccupied, except perhaps for one or two isolated colonies for each Great Power.

Mods please look at this
gameID=19044

Check the behavior between France, England and Italy. They all joined right in the last minute and never made any true advances on one another. I believe that it is only fair to cancel the game and give everyone their bets back. I can't stand playing with these cheaters. And when confronted about it, the response from England was "no habla ingles"
