Apologies
Hi all-
I don't think I NMR'd at all, but my apologies for being MIA since Saturday. I was unexpectedly hospitalized. Now I am resting and spending time with love ones after a few scary days, but I will catch up on my press I promise.

Proud Dad
This is the other game I enjoy (but only as a spectator). This was last night, and my eldest son makes the shot:

Would this be a valid ranking system
Wins over defeats * (draws +survives) all over total finished = R
R * average R of all previous opponents

Rest in PEace - Tony Rinaldi
A close friend of mine since high school died today. He was a kind husband, wonderful father, and a great friend. May you find the peace you so richly deserve, Tony.

My sympathies to you, Draug, and to his family. Losing a friend can be one of the hardest losses of all.

I am sorry for your loss. :(

Do you want to talk about it/him? A eulogy befitting what sounds like a great person...

I'm sorry. A close friend of mine died earlier this year, and the ramifications haven't really let up, emotionally or otherwise. Its difficult to find a balance between giving such an event the dignity it deserves - both to its impact and to the deceased - and accepting that for its immense tragedy, death is commonplace and that you have to go on with your life. I imagine you'll do well, though. Good luck.

Even when a close aquaintance dies it makes me sad.
1 a year ago a person i had known for years died the day after i had a long conversation with him. It was 4 days before his birthday and he was planning to go back to russia
2 a few years back a janitor at our church died we knew him but I wish i knew him better.

Two years ago this coming March, a close friend (and former lover) committed suicide. I had been trying to reach her for weeks, assuming she had gone on one of her "I've got to get away from my insane family" trips, only to find out that she had decided they wer too much and no one in her insane family contacted me. That was harder than this. At least I'll get to go pay my respects to Tony and help console his family.

Tony was a car guy, like me. In fact we often argued the virtues of our respective loves (Corvette for me, Mustang for Tony). He'd come to my autocrosses (I liked to race my Corvette before I had to sell it), and I'd go to his car shows. He had a 65 'stang that was beautiful before it caught fire last year. He was working on rebuilding it back to it's former glory again.

We worked on our class' 20th reunion together and I was his go to guy for any IT needs his company might have as he was a small business owner. Tony was a good friend. He was there whenever you needed him and always stood up for you, even if he didn't know all of the facts. He just assumed you were right and the other guy wrong. He was a positive influence in a very negative world.

I will miss him very much.

NEW GAME: The Man of God's Own Choosing - 2
Not sure why it's 2... Apparently I already created a game of this name, but I can't find it in my profile anywhere. Maybe it was canceled? Maybe I'm blind and it is in my profile?

Game Error
In the game; http://www.webdiplomacy.net/forum.php?postboxopen=1&page=381 the “GameMaster” has only partially corrected a glitch\program error by moving back the calendar; GameMaster: This game has been moved back to Autumn 1908 but did not fix the actual problem.
