Centurian. It possibly might.
But it would also mean that I wouldn't be in most of my current games, as I've yet to complete a game on here but I've no intention of dropping any.
Some CDs are caused by people trying it not knowing Dip, some by people not understanding the interface, some by time constraints.
Some people new to the site are old hands at Dip or have been playing on FB, some old hands here still drop games on occasion. There's a problem with games going CD, but stoping new sign ups (who aren't necessarily new Dip players) from joining in quickly isn't solving the problem, it's papering over some cracks.
Improving the getting started documentation and allowing players to actually drop a game by clicking a button (and perhaps having an auto pause option if anyone drops to allow a new player to be found) would also help.
Chaning the way you sign up for CDs might be improved, perhaps allowing communication before agreeing to take the country on? I'm just about tog et destroyed in one game I took over as the ally of my predecessor wasn't really interested in keeping the game going, so destroyed me, if I'd known the game was that close to completion I wouldn't have bothered.
In other cases, I've actively solicited new players for CDs, to keep the game going, and I've had it done against me as well. Perhaps allowing games dropped or in CD to have a temp pause and existing players can communicate with potential joiners? Maybe a temp buy in and access to global chat before an unpause?
