Map correction
Can someone please correct the map at the Baltic Sea? The borders between Kiel and Berlin extend into the sea! This should not happen, as the Baltic Sea is adjacent to Kiel.

Multi-Accounters in game Ba - Day
The game is now over (drawn). I strongly suspect two players are one person. The rest of us united to defeat them.

Is there a best practice for reporting multi-accounters?

Don't you just love when games come together?
I have won my second game and am now and experienced-ranked player. By the way the game started out, I thought I would've lost, I fought it out for the big victory!

Suspected multi-accounter can a mod please have a look?
http://phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=7583
Suspects are davidharrison and 3clips3
Also see game records and a high level of co-operation in the games that i could be bothered looking at.
Dr. J Who-Son (100 D)

I am England and I think 3clips3 and davidharrison (austria and turkey) are a multi-accounter. I have been frustrated by the stalemate that has been occuring, at first I thought, just really strong alliances but austria and turkey have moved in step every turn and I have been unable to convince either to switch sides. Which - for austria - would have been of great benefit to him in a normal game. They are both in a lot of games with each other and move in sinc all the time. Also, a relativly similar log in time - whether this is a co-incidence I am not sure. Innocent until proven guilty.

Received communication from davidh that said they were not multiaccounting but knew each other and were using different IPs. I know metagaming is not bannable but in this case - where the perpetrators (at least in the games I have seen) refuse vehemently to fight each other, i think a concession should be made.

A look at Prezzers profile won't go astray either... in a few games with davidh and 3clips3, a tidy 3 way draw in a few i see and moves in step once again
luke339 (226 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
All three are different people who know each other. As it happens, davidharrison and 3clips3 are good friends and so they are unlikely to betray each other.
luke339 (226 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
Also, the similar log in times are probably due to the fact that they all go to the same school.
Charvey (416 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
Lol yeah i know these guys and they aren't multi-accounts.

However the two guys and Prezzers basically go into games to draw them between themselves, so if any of them are in one of your games... you will have to form a team and not trust anyone.

Luke339, I and a couple of others have joined and we all go to the same skl with them.

So even though someone should teach them to betray each other... they won't.
Charvey (416 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
I see why you feel hard done by.

All of us from our skl in our games also feel this way as we can't trust each other too much... lol.

It hasn't been common to ban people for meta-gaming, but if it continues something will be done.
Could someone who's in contact with them pass on a message: To enter a game with a solid, unbreakable alliance is cheating, and not tolerated by the community.
I'll be keeping an eye on the situation for you, and sorry for your loss Dr.

i think they should be banned they are ruining games for other people and are obviously not that good at the game if they have to cheat, and once again they are dickheads
figlesquidge (2131 D)

3Clips/Trim - no need for bad language.
Clips - as others aren't sure they can pass the message on I'll give it personally: entering a game with a solid alliance is cheating and not acceptable.

okay well ive never played before and i didn't know the rules.. now i know i wont do it again

And since your profile says you joined in November and that you have been playing over 20 games, I think its hard to claim that you don't know the rules, unless you ignored the forum, which you obviously don't.

Is suggest everyone in a game with these shit for brains fuckwads go CD. This is the reason we need a "quit game" option before the game starts or on Spring 01. That way, if we get into a game and discover fuckwads like this are in it, we can just quit and get our money back.
Dr. J Who-Son (100 D)

It's great that friends can join and play together on phpdiplomacy, I have a mate that also plays and we make it clear we know each other outside the game if we play together in the global chat. To be honest I prefer to hinder his efforts rather than help him. A good idea for anyone wanting to play with their mates is to let everyone know and just play as if u dont know them.
Pandarsenic (1485 D)

If you're going to play like you don't know them, why is it necessary to tell anyone?
Dr. J Who-Son (100 D)
19 Jan 09 UTC
Not necessary, just ethical.
Pandarsenic (1485 D)
19 Jan 09 UTC
But why should it matter at all?

What's the difference between "People I don't know, with whom I will play as though I don't know them," and "People I do know, with whom I will play as though I don't know them," exactly?
urallLESBlANS (0 DX)
19 Jan 09 UTC
A lot of people, myself included, check other people's profiles for games played with other players. If you say at the beginning that you play together, it doesn't get people paranoid and starting forum threads about multi-accounting/gaming. It also shows other players that they can trust you to be honest which may help in game.

World War I Senarios
What would have it been like if Germany had won the First World War? Or what if Russia hadn't fallen to communism and the Allies were able to carry out their cynical game of carving up the world in full? What if Germany had rejected the armistice and the German Revolution turned socialist? Huh?

Game shows a player has not made a move but then issues orders anyway.
Have you logged on just before orders are due and noticed a player has not issued orders. You then change your orders because of that. It shows the player has not logged on for an hour or two but they are the only one that hasn't issued orders. The turn goes the full phase time. Then it shows the person DID issue orders. This is the second time it has happened to me. Has it happened to you? Is it common? Should you just assume people have issued orders?

Support not cut?
http://www.phpdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=7508
Look at Spain (SC) and Gulf of Lyons. I should have cut the support from the gulf for the attack on spain, causing it to fail - but instead support was not cut and the attack succeeded, and Spain (SC) was dislodged.
