Can someone please correct the map at the Baltic Sea? The borders between Kiel and Berlin extend into the sea! This should not happen, as the Baltic Sea is adjacent to Kiel.

Multi-Accounters in game Ba - Day
The game is now over (drawn). I strongly suspect two players are one person. The rest of us united to defeat them.

World War I Senarios
What would have it been like if Germany had won the First World War? Or what if Russia hadn't fallen to communism and the Allies were able to carry out their cynical game of carving up the world in full? What if Germany had rejected the armistice and the German Revolution turned socialist? Huh?
airborne (154 D)

Well Germany first of all would of had a bigger Empire from both East (Livonia,) and West (Luxenborg) Europe. Austria-Hungry would of been reformed into the United States of Greater Austria. Poland, Rumania, Serbia, would of been changed into puppet states of the Austro-German Alliance. France would become communism and join the USSR. WWII would be SF and USSR againist USoGA and Germany. Well that's my therory....
Invictus (240 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
I think a Legitimist coup in France would have been more likely at the time. Even assuming it did go commie, your "World War II" would have started as soon as Soviet France (I assume that's what SF means) tried to join the USSR, hardly the situation I'd call another World War.

I do think a reformed Austria is the right idea, but there would be no Poland. Warsaw was in Prussia for awhile, and I think the Kaiser would have worked out something for Poland like existed for all the former German monarchies. Kinda a faux autonomy in the Reich.
Thucydides (864 D(B))

At which time, airborne, the USA would intervene on Germany's behalf. You didn't mention UK's involvement though, I bet the Brits would have stopped the communist revolt in France
airborne (154 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
Could they? If defeated it would of left a even bigger shock, losts in funds, morale, men to the British people. Britian barely did anything useful when the Allies won in WWI. Britian could of faced an Irish Rebellion, internal turmole and Revolts in the Empire.

What would a German victory have looked like? An occupiped France but certainly not an occupied Britain. Germans had occupied paris as recently as the 1860s of course, and it didn;t ewternally solve the problems between Germany and France.

If France had been overrun than I suspect the British would have bailed and done what they did after the war anyway, namely to ignore Europe and concentrate on Empire and it's supply lines. The main question of course which led to British involvement in the first place was the potantial impact on the British Empire of an expansionist Germany. Would Germany have tried to take slices of India for example? Or would they have been content to take all the French Empire in North and West Africa and South East Asia?

If Germany had been in Vietnam, would there have been a Dien Bien Phu?

As for the Irish, they rebelled in 1916 and became independent in 1920 anyway... perhaps we would have been more comfortable letting the island go in one piece though if we had lost, or perhaps more anxious about losing it and would have fought harder to keep it?

Though the real point to consider is that Britain doesn't lose wars, so this scenario is total nonsense anyway :)

ok you counting the civil war as a war america won, when it was fighting against itself
Invictus (240 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
You don't understand the Civil War then. The United States government won the Civil War. The Confederates lost.Try to actually have a basic understanding of American history before you shoot your mouth off.

Now, I doubt Germany would actually have occupied France after World War I. Something tells me German would have tried to keep a kind of balance of power system like that which existed before the war. With a preeminent Germany, of course.

They certainly would have gobbled up the Belgian Congo, I think.
trim101 (363 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
i understand american history and logic enough to say you cant call the civil war an american victory it was a union victory
Invictus (240 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
If you knew anything you'd know that the Union is America. The American army won the war. I'm not getting into social nuances here, but it's fact that the same polity that won its independence from Britain and exists today is the one that won the Civil War.
warsprite (152 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
@trim Even though the American Civil War was "against itself", unlike many civil wars there were distict borders, and minimal irregular units and tactics. It was huge in scale of land area, army size, and casualities. By the end of the war the Union had army secand to none in the world in size and quality with the newist weapons and tactics, and the navy was of such size and state of art, that it was of concern to the British Navy. For these reasons alone it should be counted.

how can any civil war be counted as a victory for that country it defies sense
warsprite (152 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
I think the winning side sees it as a victory.
Captain Dave (113 D)
16 Jan 09 UTC
@trim - You can argue it both ways, really. In essence, in any civil war one portion of that country wins, the other loses. If the presiding government is victorious against a faction attempting to depose it, you could consider that to be a victory for the country. Equally, if that faction had the popular support, as opposed to the government being popular, you could also argue the nation lost. I don't know enough about the American Civil War to be able to say who had support of the majority, but it is fair to say that the presiding government was victorious.

Any interest in WWI still?
Magnus the Red (100 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
@trim - The Union was the United States of America. You know the Abraham Lincoln guy? Yea the 16th President of the UNITED STATES? When the war started the Confederacy left the united states, so it was the United States of America against the Confederate States of America, and when the United States won the confederacy rejoined the union. The northern states didnt change the the name of the nation just because of the war...that defies sense.

So no? Russia was supposed to get the Straits of Marmara. Anyone got something to say about what'd happen if that took place?
warsprite (152 D)
18 Jan 09 UTC
A German win would likely mean a neutral US, or even pro German. If you consider very large percent of US citizians were German-American. That could of affected outlook if the Anglophiles had't had, the influance they did have in the goverment. Back to the German win. Perhaps some of the border areas of France would become German along with Luxenbourg and a sliver of Bel. Some of the English, French, and Belgium colonies no dought would have become German. Japan and Italy going with the wind would have sided with the Germans at the end, grabing French and maybe English colonies. France would been in civil disorder maybe civil war. German control of Eastern Europe would have given them and the Fins better chance to influance the Russian Revoltion than the Allies had after the war. The Ottomans and AustriaHungry would still have a hard time keeping there Empires together, and eventualy would fall apart. The US would not have changed from what it was like without the influance of having been in the war.

Game shows a player has not made a move but then issues orders anyway.
Have you logged on just before orders are due and noticed a player has not issued orders. You then change your orders because of that. It shows the player has not logged on for an hour or two but they are the only one that hasn't issued orders. The turn goes the full phase time. Then it shows the person DID issue orders. This is the second time it has happened to me. Has it happened to you? Is it common? Should you just assume people have issued orders?

Look at Spain (SC) and Gulf of Lyons. I should have cut the support from the gulf for the attack on spain, causing it to fail - but instead support was not cut and the attack succeeded, and Spain (SC) was dislodged.
