If you plan to leave because your preferred candidate lost rather than fight to get the country back, you're not much of an American anyway.

Quite right bobo.

Leon -Colin who? I'm New Zealander so don't have a vote. But I am very pleased a protest vote has been recorded against the way USA has been going the past 8-20 years. People are starting to see through the lying, bullying media and asserting their rights to individual freedom - aka being an american! The older I get the more I admire it.

I'm not leaving because my choice didn't win. I'm trying to leave because our system is broken. I didn't like either candidate. It's not a democracy if only two of the 4 choices get to debate. If the media only pays attention to two people and then America has to only really vote for 2 people than it's not a democracy. At this point I'd feel the same way with Clinton being elected just with less haste in my voice. I'm honestly worried about a trump presidency, I know a large group of you will have words for that but I ask are you white? Middle classish? So am I. But I have Hispanic siblings, black cousins, and Muslim friends.... so yea kinda honestly worried. Who knows maybe trump will prove me wrong but if he acts on his rhetoric at all then this country is going to a dark dark place. So I ask again, anyone in Australia or Canada willing to help me migrate.

@CB - I know exactly how you feel. I'm not convinced that expatriating is the answer. I don't wish to insult Australia/Canada, but if they're honest they'll admit that nowhere is perfect. Other countries have political problems too, and at least for me the grass only seems greener over there right now by comparison to the mud we see slung around here.

I'd be curious what you think of the argument made here: http://thefederalist.com/2016/09/06/russia-is-trying-to-undermine-americas-faith-in-elections/

Well if you are serious about considering Australia, then you could try it as a refugee and get thrown in our detention camps on Nauru or Manus Island, but it would probably be better to have a crack at finding out what you can "online" & applying properly... Look up Australian government Department of Foreign Affairs & Trade (DFAT) & New Zealand is choice bro. You could always come visit on a working visa, try it before you buy it.
MajorMitchell (1874 D)
09 Nov 16 UTC
CB, it's not like you just ask and we say yes, Australia is an attractive proposition to a lot of would be immigrants, so it's competitive. If you wanted to get accepted you may need a good professional skill set & qualifications, investment capital, etc Definitely do your research if you are serious

There's very little help I can actually offer you if you want to move to Canada. If your college aged you could always apply for a student visa and come to school here. Even with the international tutition differentials I've heard it's often cheaper than college in the states. If you're already done school your best bet is to find a job and come in on a work visa and ladder to permanent residency and later to citizenship. http://www.businessinsider.com/how-to-move-canada-2016-11/#preface-make-sure-youre-not-already-a-canadian-citizen-1
You're more than welcome to move up here, I will caution you though that jobs can be rather scarce.

Is NZ easier than AU? I have been looking at the sites it appears AU doesn't want people unless they are skilled somehow (don't blame them).
LeonWalras (865 D)
10 Nov 16 UTC
Don't know if easier or not. We also have skills requirements, but there are different ways to make up points. A lot of people used to use NZ as a springboard to enter AU, but I think both countries have since tightened up. Would Xero hire you? Apparently they're open to hiring American "refugees" http://nzh.tw/11745744

Why are all these whinny Killary supporters wanting to go to WHITE countries? They seem to be saying they want to escape racism but their chosen new utopias seems to ne a list of all the predomimantly white countries of the world. Isnt it odd? Especially since Aussie is well known to be one of the most racist countries in the world! Lol you hippocrits are too funny.
LeonWalras (865 D)
11 Nov 16 UTC
Kia kaha fiedler.

In other news, Richard Dawkins just suggested everyone should move to NZ, and I think he wasn't joking. http://nzh.tw/11746387
fiedler (1293 D)
11 Nov 16 UTC
I think he might have a touch of the zhiemers. Speaking as a New Zealander I don't want Richard Dawkins here, never mind hordes of annoyingly accented hypocrites throwing a tantrum. And what the heck is Dawkins famous for? Writing a book stating god is dead one hundred years after Nietzsche said same? Give me a break.

Its all just posturing - these libtards betray their own deep racism by their choice of destination. "To hell with these rednecks!, I'm moving to Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Sweden...." Not one mention I've heard from anyone of these 'indignants' about moving to Sth America, Africa, the middle east, or Asia.

Surely if they truly believe in their liberal values they would be happy to fight the good fight anywhere... e.g. Brazil, any African state, India, the Philippines etc. etc.

But no, they are cowards, they all want to go to a short list of all the countries that are super white. Hmmm.

The choise of Aussie , NZ, is because we already are inundated with American Culture..

Chosing a coutry that speaks English is simular to your own and has simular cultural expectations is not " racist" just logical...Why would you want to go to a country with a busted economy, bribery, different language , different culture and beliefs .. Thats not raciam just basci common sense..

Okay....Lol, this is just hilarious. So, Smokey, you are saying its preferable to be around people that have the same culture and beliefs as you. I see... I am learning so much about liberalism!

Priceless.

Seeing just how brainwashed the Clinton Machine and Media has made people has deeply saddened me. Trump has already won his second term as all the slander against him that was drummed up by the Clintons, media, and uninformed kids will prove to not be true, and once Trump passes his populist agenda and doesn't do all the things the fear rhetoric of the left said he would then his approval rating will soar. The conduct of the extremist liberals will also cause many moderates and undecideds from voting democrat for quite some time and possibly cause them to formally associate with the Republican Party.

If you can't accept the results of a fair and legal election then you should denounce your citizenship and emigrate to somewhere else. You'll find it very interesting that Canada has much tougher immigration laws than the United States.

I blame Abraham Lincoln
He screwed over the south's economy without granting them an alternative, devastated their homeland and subjugated them to the union. There's no coincidence that these people's descendants elected Trump today. They have been disenfranchised and alienated and economically subjugate since before 1860. We are paying for the sins of our fathers.

The union should've bought the slaves' freedom the same way Britain did.

Your love for Hillary is astounding. You people honestly believe that you're more intelligent than Trump supporters? Your dumb stupid naive childish retarded minds were exposed the moment you fuckers failed the incorruptible, never-took-a-dollar-from-corporations, stood for gay rights when it was unpopular, voted against wars when they were popular Bernie Sanders.
