We should be rewarded for taking over CD games. There were random reimbursement periods for awhile but I think that ought to be automatic so that a takeover cost is 50% of the actual value of a position. The other half can be put in by the player who left the game so that there is a tangible punishment for that too besides docking RR, which a new player doesn't understand or care about anyway.

I think setting up a separate and independent score system or ranking for CD games might be fun. Have a top ten CD players list. This might be a good motivator for getting people to try those spots. I wonder if we could work it so the scoring system took into consideration how bad your position was when you took it.

I do second the breaking out of GR for CD take overs. I personally think there are a lot of players that are not willing to take over a CD because of the GR hit that likely will come. If they were separate and there was a specific GR ladder (or some medal) that could be worn for taking over these position then more may be inclined to join in.

Take my foolishly obliging to take up a position in A1 League to help out only to get reamed - I shouldnt pay a GR penalty for that.

Want to see taking cd positions really take off...and I'm serious...make them free...charge the guy who dropped out full price.

That way even the worst cd positions would be picked up. Cheap victories based on cd would diminish.

there should always be some non zero steak for someone to play. almost any number between 0 and 100 percent of the worth of the position can be argued for but actually 0 is something I would stay away from it. when I say we have a good equilibrium right now what I mean is that the good positions go fairly quickly and even the poor positions and only a couple points each are still sometimes taking especially by those of us who a free themselves from the mental shackles of GR or points

When I first got on this site, I took over quite a few CDs. I really like helping people out. But in retrospect, I think they have hurt my ranking and progress in points, and they would wreck the ranking of someone who was more serious about the game than myself.

So I'm all for a separate take-over ranking.
