If all you're doing is posting the stats of an already created non-live game...wtf are you doing advertising it, it's already in the Games tab (IT'S LITERALLY JUST PEOPLE LISTING A GAMEID WITH HOW MANY PLAYERS LEFT. THAT'S HELLA *LESS* INFO THAN THE GAMES TAB!). If you're trying to coordinate a non-live game, read below.
The non-live advertisement thread I think is an active disservice. Coordinating a non-live game, from henceforth just referred to as a game, requires three things:
1) Visibility
2) Coordination
3) Cohesiveness
1) Visibility
The non-live game advertising thread actually obscures advertisements. They are hidden within a single thread. Other advertisements push each other away, other sign ups push each other away. Titles with OP username are never obscured, whereas depending on the amount I check the non-live game advertising tread and such I could see nothing going on in the thread.
2) Coordination
Figuring out what phase length, point cost, start time, etc for a game requires coordination among 7 people and that means being able to hold a discussion. Holding a discussion punctured by other discussions is just strictly worse and annoying. All having a single thread does is make it more confusing
3) Cohesiveness
Related to coordination, there's no reason a thread can't be made, used, and died to give a single cohesive advertisement and coordination. If you're not interested in a game advertising itself you can mute or ignore that thread, but if they are in a mega thread then you risk missing all games just for not being interested in one game. Intertwining them serves no purpose. and as I've pointed out above, it's actually much EASIER and LOGICAL to separate games for purposes of clutter.
Conclusion:
For advertising and coordinating a non-live game, please use your own thread. If you want to know what games are already created and available...just go to the fucking Games tab. Let the NON-LIVE GAME THREAD die. Co-ordinating non-live games with their own threads is NOT a problem and very much a better solution. If you advertise too games to the point it's spam, rethink your life or re-use a thread.
P.S. it still is, and always will be, confused with the LIVE games thread and that's just another point in killing it.
