Gray check in gunboats
So.. why do people put a gray check (orders saved, not ready) in gunboat games? There is no press to be exchanged, so you're not waiting on others. In press games, sometimes people sync the phases with their real life schedule, but even that doesn't work here - it's just 5 minutes every x hours, and you agreed to a specific x.

Players needed for England and France in game
Hi, we have had 2 resignations - so would appreciate someone filling in for England and France. They're not in ideal situations but have 3-4 SCs each and can improve their position via alliances.

"without the formal approval and cooperation of Moscow's ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad." How dare we not consult murderous dictators BEFORE moving in to try and stop beheadings en masse! In these troubled times, one must not forget to ask the important question in life:
What to do with my hair? The volume combined with my 'refusal' to use gel etc. and my lack of interest in spending more than a minute 'getting it right' make the current situation unsustainable. Should I just get a haircut or start spending some more time/products on my hair, or make some other change? If a haircut, what kind of haircut? I'd rather not do what everyone else does and I don't want to have to use gel.
Hence I ask you, wise men: What do with my hair?

Make not getting it cut or using gel part of a fundraising campaign to generate the cash required to start an international charity. When your hair reaches sufficient length cut it and fashion a rope to aid with everyday tasks such as as pulling dogs out of badger holes or climbing over buildings that have the cheek to get in your way.

The problem may be compounded by your water's hardness. Shampoos and conditioners are made for a certain type of hardness (mineral content) and are not as effective when your water is harder or softer than that level.

You should have your hair the way you like it since you have to deal with it every day.

Rod Stewart explained that his hair style came from washing his hair over a sink using hand soap because he didn't use products.

If, when you grow it out, it grows downward, then grow it out and style it. If, when you grow it out, it grows up, then keep it short.

Yeah. I tried to grow long hair once, but my hair is far too thick. I just ended up with wider and wider hair.

"You should have your hair the way you like it since you have to deal with it every day."

Easily said but I'm really not the kind of person that knows very well what I would like/hate and, quite frankly, not the kind of person that cares much either. I figured I'd just accept the fact that I'm really not good at finding out the best haircut, so I just ask others. Should be fun and I guess I'm quite confident that I'll like the result better if I discuss the best choice with others. If not, at least they'll like it better :-) Plus it's a fun (and even sort of useful) thing to discuss when there's not much to talk about.

@Jamiet99uk: blonde, fairly dark I suppose.
Thickness of hair has always been a bit of a weird concept to me but not really thin and not really thick. Not sure whether it's 'average' though. It's almost at the shoulder-length in the neck if I just leave it (probably further if I 'pull' it down) and I imagine that if I tried a little, I could probably get some hair in my nose in the front without pulling it off my head. I usually do brush it to the sides though, sometimes covering my forehead, sometimes not, but I don't want it to really get in front of my eyes although I don't mind seeing it continuously.

@bo_sox: it kind of grows all sides. So (@Jamie too) it does get wider as it grows, but I guess it's manageable if it's not as long as it is now.

@PE: No.
...that wasn't a joke, shit would look good and requires little maintenance
bo_sox48 (5202 DMod(G))

Buzzes require a good bit of maintenance if you want to keep them short. Medium, messy hair doesn't; medium, styled hair does. I assume you don't want long hair, but if you do, that takes a long time, and if it's all sides, you probably don't. You'd end up with an afro.

A simple barber-style cut isn't a bad idea, nor is parting your hair on a side or down the middle, nor is sweeping it back and gelling it. Buzzing it could look good if you have the right face. Really it's up to you. Personally, I would need pictures in order to say what would look good and what wouldn't but I'm not asking for them and don't want you to post any anyway.

As the Ryder cup is up on us, I suggest styling it like a golf ball. This may also mean you have to get tattoos on your face and people may be (more) tempted to hit you with clubs, but on the plus side, you might make the evening news.
