Coincidentally the "other song" was *also* a Rivingtons song, that they heard being covered by another band or something. So they accidentally ripped off two (2) Rivingtons songs while trying to get away with ripping off one (1) Rivingtons song. Eventually the Rivingtons lawyer heard the song went it made the top 10 for the Trashmen.

Germany gave up a foothold in burgundy (and Belgium) and gave France free reign. He did it, as he told me by pm after, because I was required to let him have Warsaw. Because I didn't and think it was stupid that he gave up Belgium and burgundy for 1 sc he claims that I obviously don't understand the game.

And, honestly, how can you possibly say that he should give up a foothold inburgundy when I provided absolutely no threat . And if you or he (provided tge reason you gave is not why he said that he attacked) actually stopped to think for a second you'd realize that if I attacked Germany I'd be allowing France in the back way, as I did when I decided to protect Scandinavia.

I agree SC that Germany played rather foolishly in letting France romp like that.

I have made the same mistake of over trusting France and getting too enmeshed in Scandinavia and Russia, only to get flanked by the damn frog.

Personally, that same year that Germany screwed things over by disbanding burgundy and not retaking Belgium (autumn '03), I feel you made a huge blunder in not building in Liverpool and looking to get the channel France free. Obviously, that is super easy to see in hindsight.

I had to make a decision between losing all of my holdings in the continent, or hoping France would hold off a stab one turn and concentrate on Germany. I chose the latter, it was a gamble that failed.

Yeah... I pretty much always play gunboat, because I'm not persuasive. I never really learned the conventions of the gunboat game though, so I usually end up in a position where I'm taking out one or more of my neighbors with no chance of victory myself.

And that, tendmote, people shouldn't want to be involved with games with you ;-)
