While there isn't a "leave game" button, I've found a bug that pretty consistently kicks me from the game. I've found that whenever I get 18 sc, the game ends and it no longer makes me enter moves. While it can sometimes be a pain to move your pieces around the board to trigger the bug, it does achieve what you want.

"Please don't leave games. Ask for a sitter if you really can't play." ... I really don't WANT to leave a game. I've been playing Diplomacy for over 30 years. However, I've found a very interesting phenomena on this website, that has not made it a pleasant experience. "What was that experience?" ... you ask. Well, let me tell you... I joined what looked like a nice fun anonymous, no in-game messaging game to join. It was going well. However, it became apparent that no matter how well one played, there was no way to win. Why? Because 3 (perhaps 4) players obviously were communicating outside of the game (supporting each other on offense and defense, convoying, etc.). What fun is this? It does not matter how well you play in a gunboat game if there are 3 players working together, obviously communicating, and you unable to communicate.

Report them to the mods via [email protected]. If anything is up, they'll figure it out, ban the players, the game will get cancelled. Get to know who has a reputation around here so you can stay away from them and play high quality games and that stuff doesn't happen.

Cheating in gunboat games is not nearly as common as people make it out to be. If you do feel there is cheating, please contact the mods at [email protected]. They will be happy to assist you.

It was quite apparent. They were supporting each other multiple turns in a row, on both offense and defense.

As to getting to know folks, how do you know who is playing an anonymous game?

Welcome to the site. It looks like you got fairly unfortunate in one of the games you're in. There do appear to be some players playing unfairly, your other three ongoing games though are free from cheating.

If you were concerned about more then one game please email [email protected] as stated above and we'll look into it.

Like abgemacht said, cheating in games is pretty rare and affects a very small percentage of games on the site. Typically the higher the buy in of the game the less chance of cheating. What bo_sox48 suggested is also helpful, take a look at people's profiles and invite them to custom games if you want to ensure a quality game.
