Key Points on Bounced:
1. Every game is started by a gamemaster, who creates the game, including the settings, and is in charge of replacing players who CD, investigating possible cheating, pausing and unpausing the game, etc. ALL GAMES ARE ANONYMOUS AND WTA.
2. Press settings: Broadcast press, partial press, or no press are allows. If press is allowed, any combination of white, grey, or black press can be allowed.
3. In general, when a player misses a turn, the game goes into a grace period. The duration of the grace periods are preset by the gamemaster. During the grace period, if the late player inputs orders, the game moves on. However, players missing orders cannot send press during grace, and cannot edit their orders once they are submitted.
4. Players who miss grace (or some other policy, usually outlined in the game description by the GM) are usually replaced. Replacement players are very easy to find because there are no NMRs (generally, the game pauses at the end of the grace period) and because of the rating system.
5. The order interface is completely text based. I find this easier to use because I know the abbreviations and syntax. There is a syntax checker as well as a "what-if" engine.
7. There are two rating systems. The Rank works much like GR, except that you donate none of your own ranking points when you replace another player. A new player starts with a committment of 90. His commitment is an average of the percentage of times you get your orders in before the deadline. It is weighted so that the distant past matters less (exponentially). The basic system is:
If you make a deadline: c = 0.95*c + 5
If you miss a deadline: c = 0.95*c
If you are replaced: c = 0.60*c
When creating a game, the GM can set a lower limit on reliability for players to join and both lower and/or upper limits on ranking.
