I'm not sure it's answerable in itself really, because dream 'in life' suggests it's static. In reality, dreams change slowly or suddenly. Mine certainly changed when I became a father. Some of the other dreams I've had since I was young. Which of the dreams takes precedence depends on mood, circumstance and opportunity.

I've always been a fan of Covey, who says that you need a mission statement in life, though he stresses you should revise at least yearly.

Or another quote which I like: You don't find happiness by chasing goals, but by recognizing opportunity as it comes by.

(it may be a mangled quote, I'm sure it was a quote by a well-known person, but I havent been able to retrace it for years. Help appreciated)
