I Need a Mod
I need a mod to take a look at some reason postings in the thread I maintain, the Daily Bible Reading because a player is posting extremely offensive material of a graphic sexual nature that is completely unrelated to the topic. I muted him, but want to know if this is permitted or if it can be deleted from the Forum.

I need a God
I need a God to take a look at some reason postings in the prayers I maintain, the King James Bible because a neighbour is posting extremely offensive material of a graphic sexual nature that is completely unrelated to the topic. I forgave him, but want to know if this is permitted or if it can be deleted from the Universe.

The Return of NFL Pick 'em: Week 1 (Plus your picks for Playoff Teams + The Super Bowl!)
So a day late and seven Peyton TDs later--damn, he was great last night!--NFL Pick 'em is back...
So, besides the Broncos/Ravens game, pick the winners for the Week 1 match-ups...THEN pick your playoff teams (the 1-6 seeds for each conference) and then, of course...your Super Bowl match-up and champs.
So, NFL, Week 1...PICK 'EM!

Welfare pays better than work in the US
A mother of two in New York is eligible for more in welfare benefits than starting salaries for school teachers in the state. Hawaii offered the most money to a mother of two, $60, 590 and Idaho the least $11,150. 33 states offer more in welfare than full-time minimum wage work earns.

I kind of like that Goldinger has his own corner almost all to himself...

While it's a pileup in the Left/Libertarian corner, lol.

(I would identify more as Left-of-Center than Libertarian, as I've already stated my issues with that movement...but I'm in that happy middle ground between the border for Authoritarianism and Libertarian.)
Draugnar (0 DX)

Obi, you are solidly libertarian. If you were a happy medium, you would be righ on the line, not half way to extreme libertarian.

I've haven't figured that out yet, but as redhouse is the closest to the center, you should ask him. In the meantime, I'll be waiting in the Conservative quadrant....

I think its impossible for one person to share the entirety of their views with a specific political party, and even more impossible to fully elucidate those beliefs with a ten minute political quiz and somehow translating opinions into numbers. Political views are much more idiosyncratic than that. My Green and Democrat percentages were virtually identical (94 and 95, respectively), but that hardly implies that the Green and Democrat parties share the same views. Most people, in my experience, tend to vote on a few issues that they feel strongly about, and most are apathetic in others. My most important issues - technology, education, science - only had three or four questions, and the generalizations made by those questions just happened to line up with Democrats, although I'd hardly say I agree with every educational policy currently in place. These quizzes are entirely self-reinforcing anyway. Political masturbation. HEY LOOK I DON'T AGREE WITH SBYVL NOW I HAVE MATH TO SHOW IT. If only politics were as easy as a short questionnaire.

@sbyvl:

It looks like Hereward's sitting in your corner too...

@Draug:

Maybe, but I mean in terms of voting/identifying as libertarian...

I think most of the questions I answered that got me towards the Libertarian side were more in opposition to Authoritarian ideals than in favor of Libertarian ones, if that makes sense...

Sort of the way a lot of Republicans were voting more anti-Obama than pro-Romney in the last election...their votes were based more off opposing someone/something they hated rather than really loving and embracing Mitt...which I'd argue for many conservatives 1. Never really happened or 2. Embraced him way too awkwardly and late in the game once it became clear it was him or 4 more years of *Insert Stupid Republican Pun on Obama's Name Here.*

Yeah for the record I felt the quiz put too low on the y-axis. About on the x-axis.

But I'm generally fairly supportive of government regulation of behavior, such as seatbelt laws, mandatory vaccination, limiting unhealthy behavior like fast food consumption, speed limits, alcohol laws, close regulation of sex markets, etc. I think a free hand in a lot of areas creates misery and chaos lol. But you wouldn't think so to look at my position in the bottom left.

I also generally support political unification rather than disintegration or dissolution, which would seem to want to move me further north as well.

" I have my quadrant as well, considering I don't believe Invictus to be a true conservative"

I'll have to watch my back at the next party purge, then. I suppose believing in limited government, individual liberty, free markets, low taxes, sound money, a robust national defense, God, and school vouchers isn't enough to be a True Conservative anymore. The fact that I voted for a Democrat as Champaign county coroner in 2008 (his opponent was a Green) must rule me out too, despite all the rest in my three elections being Republicans. It's people like you, Syblv36, who are doing real harm to the GOP.

And, just so we remember, this test is deeply flawed to the point of being basically useless.

Do over with the eviloution answer corrected. Also I see that AGW isn't even part of the science group, but the environmental group instead. That's misleading. I disagree with the science part of AWG. I guess this quiz thinks the science is settled too.
