More noob questions
Just curious, when I'm at the "Home" page, some of the games I'm in have stars next to them like the stars that show up in threads you have posted in. What are these stars symbolizing?

The "Oh, Come On, It Wasn't THAT Bad," Screen and Stage Countdown
We've all seen it ...that disease known only as "fanboyitis" (or, since I suppose our diseases have to be politically correct nowadays, it's sister disease that's toally equal and in no way lesser than fanboyitis, fangirlitis.) A movie, play, book, or or show comes out- and it's great. The sequels come out- "Oh my God, those evil demons ruined EVERYTHING! EVERYTHING!!!" So sound off on The "Oh, Come On, It Wasn't THAT Bad" books, shows, films, and, yes, plays.

Halp!, it won't let me in!
So I'm trying to join a game a friend of mine started up and it's password protected so just us pals can play together, but it won't let me join. If I type in the password and hit enter it just reloads the same screen, if I type it in and click on join it says I have the wrong password. HALP!

A rare chance for Russia to actually win rather than be boringly mediocre in one of these things.

Which was my prediction.

Go USA!!!
figlesquidge (2131 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
@hellalt
England may be overrated, and the USA may have been organised, but the fact remains England went straight through them a couple of times.
In particular, if we had a real striker instead of Heskey that 1-1 would have gone in.
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
Hang on... were we watching the same game hellalt? England looked at least twice as likely to score most of the way through that game.

Not to brag, but I think Argentina has left the most positive performance so far.

Does anyone know where the Nigerian goalkeeper plays? He is a really great keeper.

And I certainly didn't expect Greece to be such a horrible team.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
Oh you definitely did, and surprisingly it was Messi's fault you didn't win by 3 or more.
Not sure how you'll do against better opposition though?
TheGhostmaker (1545 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
RE Heskey, I thought he did an admirable job. Everyone knew he wasn't going to score: he hasn't scored since February!
StevenC. (1047 D(B))
12 Jun 10 UTC
I agree with Xapi. What the heck happened to Greece?

The USA was a little lucky there when Green fumbled.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
@Ghost - He was bad. Yes his holdup work wasn't bad, but he was always offside, and when presented with a 1-1 hit it right at the keeper.
Xapi (194 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
Well, I wouldn't blame it on Messi, I mean, you can't blame a guy for not putting the ball in the net when he's the one making the play alone in the first place.

I think a big part of it was the GK, as I said, a bit of Higuain having a bad day, and a bit of bad luck.
figlesquidge (2131 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
Sorry, fault was a bad choice of word. I guess what I mean is if he was finishing at even half his club form he'd have got a hatrick
Xapi (194 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
It was refreshing to see Messi play on such a high level, breaking Nigeria's line every time. I don't think I've ever seen him play this well on Argentina's squad.
Xapi (194 D)
12 Jun 10 UTC
Probably, but would you say he finished the plays poorly? I think his shots were all really close to the post, and the keeper did a great job to keep out those that were going in.
Serioussham (446 D)

The Nigerian keeper plays in the Israeli domestic league, Tel Aviv I think?

i think both teams should be staisfied. at least its not a loss for either
