Most of the people I talked with in Israel spoke English much better than I did Hebrew. I'm pretty sure the USA is one of the few countries with decent education but a terrible lack in a second taught language though, maybe because there is no other consensus language to teach. Spanish maybe? I don't speak it; French is much more useful for the people I know anyway.

Hehe, English is actually my third language. My wife speaks some french and my cousin has a quite fluent Spanish. Anyway, as the country is small and on constant interactions with the outside many people here know at least two-three languages. I have many friends who know four-five

The Palestinians don't want peace until Israel no longer exists. The Israelis are too suspicious to accept peace.

Numerous atrocities on both sides. Neither side is obviously "right". Personally, I'm just a little more sympathetic to the Israelis just because of the Jewish peoples' history to date, and the fact that there seems to be a little more hate coming from the other side.

Either way, America has no dog in this fight. Stay the hell out. No more arms to the Israelis; they're more than capable of defending themselves with what they have.
