If people are OK with Marlboro we can probably do this in October. If people are interested in coming from far away, I wanted to give them time to plan.

If people want, we can do a smaller event in October, see if people like the venue, etc. Like a practice for the big event in the Summer.

No.

I wouldn't be able to attend until fall break, spring break or the summer around here. Not with being the new teacher on the job and teaching a course with End of Course testing (very big deal in schools).

I'd also be willing to split a room with someone else to reduce costs, and if it's within driving distance, I'd carpool with someone and split gas as well.

If there's cheap transportation from Chicago to Boston and I don't have class, I might sneak out and do it. I don't know what dates might end of working yet...

bo_sox, if you can get from Chicago to Ann Arbor, I'd then be able to drive us over to Boston from there. There are a lot of ways to get to Ann Arbor; some different busses like the Greyhound, and I'm pretty sure there's an AmTrak connection as well

Id be massively interested if it worked with my job. Love Boston and spent a lot of time there.

Personally, given the number of students and people in the education field who have expressed interest, I think we should shoot for the Columbus Day weekend from October 11-13. Labor Day weekend is also a possibility, August 30-September 1.

A roundtrip flight on Southwest from MDW-BOS is running about $330 right now, leaving Friday and going back Sunday. A Thursday early morning to Sunday is running $275. Detroit to Boston is $330.

Yes bo_sox, Chicago-Ann Arbor is 4 hours. Ann Arbor to Boston though, could take ~11 hours if we cut through Canada, which is what I would plan on doing.

11 hours on the road through Ontario and the northern Appalachians... sounds like something I'd do just for fun. As long as there's plenty of gas stations and plenty of Pringles along the way o_O
