@ Tru: Looks like we have a shortage of people who want to TA for AUS and RUS. I think RUS is my strongest country, so that would be my preference, but I would gladly do AUS as well if need be.

Unfortunately, I miscalculated about a few of my games. I need the 20 for the webDiplomacy Leagues which I can't drop out from even if I wanted to because I was lent some of my coins for it. Maybe we can push off the start date or otherwise you might have to find a new player. I'm really sorry guys.

IF it came down to it and everyone was anti-Austria, I would also be willing to give up Germany. I can usually pull out a draw as Austria at least. Germany and France are where my best win shots are.

Classic, Full Press, Non anonymous, WTA, password protected with a 5 buy in. Allow for 5 days for players to join. After creating the game, send a PM to the other players that contains the game link and password.

Wouldn't it be cool if JG got Germany? Then I could help the guy who I am backup TD for. Althought all of the players in this have shown promise. And the other TAs and profs are some top notch players. This is gonna be a fun game!

@Jim - LakersFan, you and I need to... Wait. Can TAs metagame? Is that even possible? After all, having TAs is metagaming anyhow as we are a resource outside the game. Just kidding of course. :-)

well we are staggered but i was afraid to risk it... not being able to join a game in the leagues can be a pretty bid deal. either way, i would still join this gane cause i committed except that jmo warned me that im not allowed to spend the coins on anything else. since they only lent me 12 , does that mean i can sti use the 8 i had to spend on whatever i want? if not, i will need to be lent 5 more or get permission from jmo to use them in this game.

and no offense draug, but i really hope i dont get germany. thats the only country where i actually feel like i know what im doing :D

In fact, we might consider giving players preferences on countries as well. I understand that the beginner SoW has randomized players, but like JG I also have countries I'm more familiar with than others. If I'd have a pick I could pick ones I really like to learn more about.

It'd be much more fun for TAs too imho.

I will gift you up to 20 more should you need them, JG. You are putting inthe effort to get the Leagues going, it is the least I can do. Then you could return the 12 and know that my 20 are literally a gift.

I like the idea of TMoW and JG that we let the players have their choice. With the new TD powers, one of the Profs (or both) could me made TD for this game and rearrange the players as best fits the requests.

Makes sense for an intermediate game imho, where players are expected to know a few countries already.

If it were done, I would hope the players would put their weakest choices first and consider this to be a game for learning, not purely for the win. But some less scrupulous might order them from strongest to weakest hoping to get a jump on their competition.

Ah well, I'd say if you're that much of a tool to choose to miss up on a learning experience, then people are free to do so. I'm sure it will make my learning experience even better if they play their strongest and I play my weakest. This game is a win for me either way.

Yeah, has to be through a mod. But I have plenty of points. Considering I'm not into the ultra high pot games (I find they alter the way people play), I have more than enough for my needs. Butif you email the mods and tell them of my offer, I will confirm it and you can borrow as much or as little as you need, up to 20 (the cost of the leagues). I figure you are do that for the effort you are putting into them.
