This is like the bit at the end of films, where you think people have come to see the good and have changed - like the ones where they overcome prejudices and all work together to take down a common enemy. Then, once the battle's over they all break apart and life goes on as it always was. Now to explain the similarities: in both cases we had a seemingly impossible task (get people together / make US play footy) and it was looking so close due to a massive event (Apocalypse or something/ getting England in first match) but in the end it won't happen.

The trouble with all too many US sports fans is that they lose hope far too early :p. Best game of the world cup so far without question! I can picture the scene across America... Wide eyed young soccer fans will be asking their fathers "can we watch the world cup highlights tonight???". To which their father's will reply "You won't like it. It was only a draw".

Slovenia was superior in the 1st half and USA played very well in the 2nd. Draw is probably the fair outcome.

the AR is from the UK... and has had things agains Edu when he played for rangers b4... its almost like he h8s edu. He also has a history of making outragous call against Demsey when he was at Fulham.. (just two nice notes to go with the game). and it was his 1ST world cup game

That's a joke right? Klose & Cahill have both been sent off under ridiculous circumstances, yet just because this ones against you it is deemed the worst of the world cup...

i agree klose was a bad call (i'm a german supporter remember) today has just set me off like none other.

given the circumstances and the consequences of the call, it very well might be the worst call of the tournament.
both of those red cards were ridiculous, and neither of them should have been. they crippled both their teams and led to losses. terrible, yes.
but taking away a goal that woudl have won the game for no apparent reason? travesty, even if it wasn't on the us. direct result on the outcome of the game, and very well the tournament for both teams.

Yes, the Klose and Cahill reds were absolutely ridiculous, game-changing, and stupid. But at least they had a *reason* behind them! Both were very, *very* harsh but this is just disallowing a goal for no reason!! He was nowhere near offside!

@DJE Russia lost against Slovenia and they still have some fans - some of us would like to see USA in the same position :-D. But what a hell - you were playing well and you will beat Algeria. After all it is just a sport and if you would be a little bit smaller nation you would be accustomed that arbiters are against you :-P

i wont; be turning on my country and i would still be one of those fans. i would just like to see soccer grow in the united states. i wish i had a soccer team here in indianapolis i would get season tickets. but alas we have not one team.

anyway, there's certain justice here, as the only worldcup u.s. made something (corea 2002, the worst worldcup ever), portugal would have qualify instead of u.s. if not were cos a terrible ref in the corea-portugal game
