I think like somebody said before, obiwan, it's not stuck-up if it's true. Like, imagine if you were a world-class doctor, and somebody came to you with a time machine and sent you back to 14th century Europe. And suppose you put up a big sign in the appropriate local language,
"I am the one person who can save you from the black plague! Come to me if you're sick, and don't go anywhere else!"
Would that be boastful or arrogant? No, it would just be a sober and accurate description of the situation.
People say Jesus is humble because of how He acted even though He WAS so awesome. He was as awesome and powerful as He said, and more, yet He did not seek political power or influence, He did not seek out the rich and the great -- He spent His time with the poorest of society, with children, and with a lot of His time spent helping them with their problems.
So now, imagine -- going back to the hypothetical -- that not only were you the only good doctor in Europe, but you were also the most talented person, and could easily be the richest if you would just serve the rich and charge them money; but instead you hung out with the poorest of the poor, serving them for free, sleeping outside because you had no money, trying to help them, and not talking down to them. Wouldn't you consider it fair to call you/that person humble, even if you also continued to point out that you were the best and only true doctor in Europe, and the one person to whom people should come for medical aid?
