I have not played a GOOD world game in a long time. I wonder if it is possible to have 17 out of the top 100 GR players join such a game. It would be quite a feat. This can be anon or non-anon and it should be 36 or 48 hours. WTA only. Indicate your interest inside (please post only if your Oct GR rating is 1 to 100)
not classist... snobist ;) if we can get 12 or 15 top-100s, then we will probably open up to those with higher than 100 GR. I do hope there is enough interest for a challenging and fun game like this, specially since it barely has a cost to one's GR (I think it takes only 1/4th of the usual GR points to join a World game) but can potentially be a fun game with lots of top players.
I get my grades back for my midterms in a week or so and then I should be able to tell if joining another world game is a good idea or not... So I'll get back to you then!

@ uclabb - why not sign up then rescind if you need to in a week. we promise to give you a chance to back out if you need to due to school.
@ stratagos - I think all are fixed except for one - the poland to ukraine fleet movement option which I've heard about but not seen. other than that, from what I know things are fixed including the ghost sc in madagascar. others can correct me if I'm wrong.
@ Draugnar... indeed. we'll call it lend/lease. but really, I would hate for points to be an obstacle for one or two folks who might want to otherwise join, so we'll figure something out.
also - those from 100 to 150 who would like to play can put their names on the waitlist in case we dont get the requisite sign-ups.

@Babak: This is tempting. I don't know how I feel on the world variant. In my first world game currently and it just started. I'll keep this in the back of my mind though.

@ Tom - This wont start for a while, but if you are interested, put your name in, and you can then remove it in a week if you change your mind. having you on-board would certainly give it momentum

I think games get cancelled too readily on this site. Iif someone NMRs in the first year then by all means it is easier to start again. But a few years into the game I think you should just play it out. So what if someone else gets lucky because of a fortunate NMR or CD. It's only a game. And it is such a big investment of time and effort to call it quits with no result.
