i'm fine, i just don't post quite so prolifically here anymore. just a bit busy i guess with college and life and girlfriend and things like that. i haven't taken quite as far as you did figle by dropping out though :P
I'm in the leagues so that I have a commitment that prevents me from leaving the site lol. Not that I want to leave the site, just that I fear I might if I let my life take over my REAL life, which is diplomacy.
Ah true. Whilst I do know the pronunciation for your name I have to admit I shorten it to Thucy pronounced th-uck-ee :P :O You got a life! How dare you :) Yeh sorry about that, but exams call and all that. Since I still failed one I probably should have dropped out rather earlier than I did, but still. I think I'm back now, but then that wasn't my first break.
Fair enough. I've found that gunboat is a great way to get my tactical fix without the time restraints of actual diplomacy (or indeed without having to relearn the tricks of the trade!)
I was modding a football website some years back and one poster revealed a great story about being at work - at The Houses of Parliament, and needing to use the toilet in a hurry. He dived into one for wheelchair users... he said that as he was finishing the main act, and in a highly poisonous atmosphere, he reached out for something to pull. He inadvertently grabbed the 'help-line' and set off an alarm. Within seconds guards had opened the door from the outside to reveal him on his throne. Given that this was in the Palace of Westminster, it was quite a coup.
Said post was never allowed off of the top of the main Forum in about three years. I left before it did, so it could still be there four years on.

FORTIFICATIONS -- OPTIONAL RULE: Holding units are double strength
Yes, you heard me; how about an *OPTIONAL* rule that effectively doubles the strength of holding units? This is to say, an unsupported unit that holds cannot be dislodged by an attacking force with a combined strength of fewer than three.
