Why are they acting this way? Because they have a special narrative in their minds. They have been convinced that Trump is worse than Hitler and they need to fight this. Luckily, it is only a vocal minority at the moment, so calm explainations and reactions could solve this dilemma.

Also they need to understand that this is how democracy works and that he, in every right and by law, is the elected president (not in office but soon). So there need to be many conversations to ease the situation and to de-escalate it.

It is because (despite my post from Bernie which says a lot about why people voted for Trump) for the people who voted against Trump, they see him as a threat to their very way of life. To the people that they love (LGBT, Latino, Black, and Women) - those people who are today worried that Trump's election will result in more aggression on the streets (which they may already face every day), this is exactly what happened in the UK when Brexit was passed - people shouting 'we voted to get rid of you!' (even if some of those same people are the ones who didn't vote at all)

These scared people are looking for any alternative which will make them feel safe. And Trumps complete turn-about in his acceptance speech isn't enough. Because something something, polarized campaign? The Media... i'm pretty sure these blanks you can fill in.

You may not feel threatened by Trump's success. But then i doubt you fit into one of the categories which voted overwhelmingly against him. (80% of black males, for example... not as good as what Obama got, but hell they didn't have the option to vote for Obama again...)

First of all, Trump acts like Hitler did, when he first came to power in 1933. Nobody thought he was evil back then, he just promised to make Germany Great again, not pay war reparations, rebuild the army, and blame the Jews.

I respect the office of the Presidency. as it is the truest will of the populace. It is an incredible responsibility that Trump will have to bear. so few presidents have been able to have a super majority and maintain a level of responsibility.

He's extremely cold and calculating, and he wouldn't have won if he didn't have some charisma.

Trump has followed a very similar trajectory to Hilter in 1933. We have yet to see what the next 4/8 years will bring. So i don't know if he is a monster, but that is what people fear.
