The king is dead
gameID=131757

This game is a classic game with special rules that I have heard of that I want to try. The special rules are as follows:

tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
There are 4 different groups: the king, the knights, the rebels, and the traitor. Each of these have special winning conditions, and in the case of the traitor, rules that apply to them.

King: defeat all rebels, and both traitors
Knights: defeat the rebels and traitors, with the king surviving
Rebels: defeat the king, with at least one rebel surviving
Traitor: kill all other players, including the king and other traitor. Also is informed of the identity of all other players.

There is 1 king, 2 knights, 3 rebels, and 1 traitor. You will be randomly assigned a role after the game begins (I am currently looking for someone who would be willing to do this. You're not allowed to do this if you join the game. Pm me if you would be willing to.) at the start of the game you will be informed of what role you have, the identity of the king, and, if you're the traitor, the identity of all other players. Pm me for the password, or if you need anything clarified. Thank you.

Are there 1 or 2 traitors? Re-read your rules tvrocks, it doesn't make sense
Yellowjacket (835 D(B))
19 Dec 13 UTC
It's 1. Gives the rebels too much advantage otherwise.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
19 Dec 13 UTC
He copied part of the rules from my revised version we're playing, where there are two traitors (out to get everyone else).
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
Yeah, I did, didn't know you played here, Chaqa, there is only 1 rebel, yeah, I was thinking about replacing one of the rebels with a traitor though. Any thoughts? Also yeah, I forgot to change the wording of the traitor's role when I copied it. :(
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
The yeah was to copying it.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
19 Dec 13 UTC
If we do play one of these here, let someone else organize it. You seem a bit confused on the rules. :p
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
I don't see any rules I missed, if I did please post them, also, the only change I was thinking about making was the number of rebels and traitors. Realistically it would be harder to overthrow a king than it would be to defend yourself. I think it might be better if there are 2 people on the rebel side, 3 on the king's side, and 2 "wild cards". I also just think it might be fun.
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
Or just inform me of the rules.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
19 Dec 13 UTC
The balance that worked in the other games was 1 King, 2 Knights, 3 Rebels, and 1 Traitor.

I think it helps the traitor's chances if he is informed of all the other players' roles.
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
I know, he'd be informed in this version. I was mainly just wondering if other people would want the rebel side to kings side to traitor ratio changed. I also thought it might give the traitors a better chance.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
19 Dec 13 UTC
The traitors aren't a team. They are out for their own. The rebels are working together. king and his forces should be balanced with the rebels.
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
I know, I was mainly wanting to see others opinions on it. I guess I'll keep it as the original rule.

Can you clarify the winning condition for the traitor? How can a single traitor "kill all other players"? You would have to capture all 34 centers which seems like a rather difficult goal since you'd have to capture only 17 while destroying all enemy units and then taking the other 17 all at once. Or am I misunderstanding the traitor's winning condition?
kasimax (243 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
that sounds like a lot of fun! can i join?
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
Yeah, sorry, hadn't thought about that. I guess theirs is to just get 17. It worked better on vdiplomacy where you can change winning conditions.
Chaqa (3971 D(B))
19 Dec 13 UTC
That's why it doesn't really work over here.
mendax (321 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
Either way, a traitor solo is probably good enough to make the game playable.
tvrocks (388 D)
19 Dec 13 UTC
Yeah, hadn't thought of that when I made it. If a traitor is able to do a solo though, they probably would've won anyway.
mendax (321 D)

Just to review the rules and winning conditions,
King: (1 player) defeat all rebels and the traitor
Knights: (2) defeat the rebels and traitor
Rebels: (3) defeat the king with at least 1 rebel surviving.
Traitor: (1) get a solo win, knows identity of all other players.

How unhealthy are crisps?
Just wondering, and I thought it would be a nice change of topic. If one stops eating crisps, will he/she be significantly more healthy? How about energetic, happy? Or less? And fat? Do crisps make you significantly fat? You webdippers probably have some interesting thoughts on this as well.
Just normal, ready salted crisps, for the sake of argument. Before people start bringing up their homemade moonshine crisps as an argument...

Diplomacy Who--Mirror, Mirror, On the Walll, Who's the Best Classic Doctor of All?
http://webdiplomacy.net/board.php?gameID=131817
Standard board with one quirk--countries get a number, 1 to 7...and you "speak" in the manner of the Doctor fitting your country's number. For instance, England #1 (Hartnell), France #2 (Troughton), Germany #3 (Pertwee), Italy #4 (Tom Baker...hooray!), Austria #5 (Davison), Russia #6 (Colin Baker), and Turkey #7 (McCoy.) So, grab your scarves, celery sticks, opera capes and rainbow coats, and let's go!
