how is this an argument, Millions of adults put on costumes, not to do mischief, not to take candy, but to go out and have fun with people of their age. I don't understand why this is even a discussion

@Putin You say that in your area it's not safe for the kids to go out on Halloween. That speaks much more about where you live than anything about the holiday. Where I live everything's pretty chill. Also, the people who do decide to raise hell and find reasons to do so other than Halloween; so lighten up. I'm too old to go ToTing; but I go to conventions and such where costumes are a norm. Any excuse I have to wear something different than my usual attire is a good thing.

Where is the harm in wearing a costume on Halloween?

To get most of the stuff, I had to stage a university Halloween film project for permission.

The badge I rented online from Germany.

The clear curly "agent" earpiece, the tactical holster, the flask, the aviators, the maglite, the badge holder etc I got from amazon.

The t-shirt and hat I got from a man that distributes to agencies and departments across the nation, but his jackets were too expensive (this is all sub < $100 if I don't damage the badge) and he was kind of wary selling one to me. He was willing to give me more information on what an actual DEA raid jacket looks like, including the brand of the jacket.

So, I bought the exact same jacket with nothing on it. Got the local screen printers to do the DEA Special Agent on the back and phoned a company that makes the jackets and other DEA stuff. He was willing to send me the collar lapel pins and both embroidered badges for ~$20. I'll have to do a bit of stitching, but in the end it will look exactly the same.

Zombie Gaddafi was a big hit. Can' wait to do it again tonight.

And going as myself is already scary enough...or irritating enough, at least. ;)

My wife and I are going as yin and yang (all-white outfit with the black yin symbol for her, all-black outfit with the white yang symbol for me).

Cost: $3 in posterboard, 10 minutes.
Drawback: I have to act all manly, assertive and sunlike.

I couldn't think of anything so at the last minute I slapped together a Clark Kent costume. I wore one of those T-Shirts with a superman logo on it, and then dress pants and shoes, a white shirt unbuttoned halfway, and a pair of horn rimmed costume glasses that I usually use if I'm going as Brad to Rocky Horror. It went over surprisingly well.

My town postponed Halloween until Friday due to fallen trees in the road. They were going to go Thursday, but they realized that there were parent-teacher conferences. So! Friday it is....
