Can anyone defend Austria when being attacked by Italy, Russia and Turkey?
Can anyone defend the idea that a "power" can produce a better situation for Austria by diminishing the attackers' SC control in exchange for increased unexpected imposition of diplomatic pressure on the attackers?

Can anybody defend stealing from the wealthy
Something that has always confused me is why people say taxing the wealthy is fair. How can one justify governments taking quadruple the money on those who earn twice as much as the middle class? How is it fair?

Chris Hedges: Hitchens, Harris and "Secular Fundamentalism Caused Oslo Attacks?
http://www.truthdig.com/report/item/fundamentalism_kills_20110726/
Quite possibly the WORST PROFESS IONAL ESSAY I HAVE EVER READ. Stylistically lackluster at best and completely banal at worst, with an emhpasis on terms poorly defined and adjectives poorly used, it's message is confused and WRONG--WHEN has Hitchens had "twisted yearning for the apocalypse and belief in the “chosen people?" UTTER STUPIDITY...

Can anybody defend baby eating?
I mean they make a good stew, but the meat is too stringy.

I think I want to open a night club in Alaska called Club Baby Seals.

But seriously. Baby cows (veal) are awesome to eat. The meat is wonderfully tender and mild. I love Veal Marsala!
SergeantCitrus (257 D)
26 Jul 11 UTC
Also, the fact that they take 9 months to cook is just outrageous. I'm hungry now, con-sarnit!

If the mom eats a lot of barbecue, will the baby come out bbq-flavored? Any research on this?

@SargeCitrus +1 - Loved it!

Would be interesting to see if a citrus diet (or some specific herb) while the cow was pregnant and/or nursing the calf would flavor the veal any though.

Considering that the pro-life movement would applaud the move towards fewer abortions, and according to some the inner cities are filled with hungry folks, and, hell, we all know dark meat is the tastiest....we should most certainly encourage our minority communities to give up their live-born to the soup kitchens. It is a solution to so many social problems; who could disagree?
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 11 UTC
Brilliant thread...too bad he didn't' do the decent thing and give credit where credit is due: Thank You Jonathan Swift, "A Modest Proposal". While you laud your friend for his whit, please know that his wit has been swindled from another...
SergeantCitrus (257 D)
26 Jul 11 UTC
Technically Swift was talking more about societal benefits, I'm more interested in the gourmet aspects.

I will admit that it only takes a whit of wit to make dead baby jokes. Still love 'em though.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 11 UTC
Oh....if we are specifically focusing on the gourmet aspects....bring it on! You know, keep 'em in a crib until they are nice and fat, the muscles well marbled due to lack of use....then slow roast a baby...the fat drips off even while it bastes the meat...

Heaven. Nothing tastier. Best served with fava breans.

The placenta makes a great appetizer too.
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 11 UTC
Oh yes! The placenta is....well, let's just say when my children were born, I chewed through the imbecilic cord and ran off to the hospital kitchen with that placenta. It is just *that* good!
krellin (80 DX)
26 Jul 11 UTC
That being said, don't discount the possibilities of the cord...it's like a ready-made baby-brat waiting to be boiled in beer.

If you can predict your wife's date of child-bearing, have her drink a bottle of your favorite hot-sauce just prior to the birthing process. It really gives a special "zing" to that cord blood.

Drunken Diplomacy
I'd like to set up a live game for alcoholics at some point in the future. Every time you gain or lose a SC, you take a shot. Every time the year changes, you take a shot. Every time a nation is eliminated, you chug. The idea is that as the war goes on, you become more and more "drunk" with power... only for real.

An honest question for Christians regarding trinity
Trinity - god being one but three - has always and will always be something that I find impossible to swallow... but, for those who believe in it, it occurred to me that it is a model consistent with other Christian beliefs in a way that I hadn't realized before... I have a question about this...
