I've actually suggested this to some of my irl friends. Unfortunately, my drinking friends and my diplomacy friends don't overlap much. Although, this could be an excellent (or terrible) way to bring them together.

This idea seems amazing, but not sure it would be much fun online.

Shit, I hadn't even seen the replies until just now. I am quite serious about trying it, as I agree it would probably be amazingly hilarious. Public press over Skype DOES seem feasible... I guess we just need to iron out the details. What/when to drink, etc.

The way I see it, its a public press game over voicechat. (I don't have a webcam.) And I usually drink at my desk. So the only difference is that everyone's drinking and we all know it. Not really that odd.

can't stand the taste of beer, however I would be happy to do Rum or Vodka...

My suggestion would be this:
At the end of every year you have to take a shot for every 3 sc you control. So the people winning have to drink more then the people loosing.


Also I am a veteran of shot chess. lol.

@Fasces - try cider. It has about the same alcohol content as beer but tatses a hell of a lot better.

cider has the same alcoholic content as beer? Clearly Draugnar is already drunk. I don't think I feed my children alcohol every fall when we buy cider and donuts. Perhaps you meant mulled cider?

@krellin: "Cider" is used in most of the world to mean fermented (alcoholic) apple juice. It's only in North America that it means unfiltered apple juice. Although I'm still confused as to why Draug is using non-American terminology!

We have a local brewery restaurant that brews everything from dark lager to pale ales and it also has a good berry based cider it brews up.

There's a reason I have krellin muted... I recently unmutted Tettleton and Putin, but will probably put them back on mute what a couple threads I'm reading and posting to are done.

I thought about muting a number of people, but

1) I'm a mod and I feel it would be inappropriate
2) While many people seem to get angry at certain posters, I just find them incredibly amusing.

I just find certain ones annoying and, not being a mod, I feel free to ignore them.

Draugnar is a pussy with thin skin. hell, I find a vast majority of posters annoying (Draugnar...) and yet I let them exist. that is kind of what forums are about, isn't it? Hell,I even find people I agree with (Tettleton) annoying as hell...but muting is for pussies.
