You know, someday I'm going to die, and the obituary the next day is going to read:
"obiwanobiwan, died yesterday, of a gunshot wound he suffered as he backed into a dark alley and someone he'd popped off once too often too popped him off...
He is remembered mostly for his obsessive use of Hamlet, he's the Hamlet Guy.
Oh--and he also wrote ten novels and served in as Secretary of Education for 8 years."
:p
But seriously...yeah...The Klingon Hamelt--I've seen it...
Kind of weird though--I mean, Hamlet's all about the fear of death, "the undiscovered country," and Klingons are all ABOUT death, they LOVE the idea of dying in battle and revenging people and stabbing...
The Klingon Hamelt would be over in two seconds:
Ghost: Hamlet, the serpent that did sting thy father now wears his crown.
Hamlet: RAAAAAAAH!
Claudius: What as all that noise and--oh, shi--*stabbed, dies.*
Hamlet: K'plah!
Plus this guy's not a very good Hamlet, he doesn't really emphasize any of the larger moments or phrases in the speech and seems unsure of his tactics and motivations throughout...still, I guess it's impressive that he memorize the whole thing in a made-up language (though if you'd believe General Chang from Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country, "You haven't experienced Shakespeare until you have read him in the original Klingon."
King Lear and Macbeth and Othello are all really much more suited to the Klingons anyway, a King being deposed and a war being fought, a bloody general killing his king and best friend for power, and a general who's lied to by Iago, who could be a Romulan...
...
Aaaaaand that was WAY too much analysis for a clip of a guy in a costume doing a silly Star Trek bit with The Klingon Hamlet.
But still--nice clip, thanks. ;)
