Looking for a few more players.
I am looking for a few more players to join my game. It's called Greg's Awesome Diplomacy Game for Attractive People. The password is mountaindew (no caps or spaces). It's mostly my friends but I guarantee you we won't team up based on friendship. I thought we could get a few more players but nobody responded. Please join. Thanks.

Something is Wrong.
One of my non-chat games has a message thing on it, but when I click on it, it brings me to the game which says that there is no chat available. I'm not complaining or anything, I'm just wondering if that has happened before.

Civility REQUIRED game: players wanted
Hello,
I have created two games of this type: one was very successful and one was successful until we had a player who was replaced by a sitter and a CD player. I want to create and play another of these games. Please post here if you are interested.

What logical fallacy is this?
I'm arguing with someone on another website, and they keep using examples of things from their life to show that what happened in their life is always the case. What is that logical fallacy called?

New July GR Challenge Topic
Since my attempt to combine my invitational with a July GR Challenge basically meant the latter got completely ignored -- and because July GRs are out -- gonna open & organize it again here.

Actually, that's not true, I'm pretty good at math and understand the concepts behind GR/Elo system. However, trying to apply the advanced math detailed at the site is...challenging. An example will follow:

I hate threads where we bash newbies for reporting cheating in the forum
WHY....can't we have a button, next to the "new thread" button, that says "report rule violations" and routes to the moderators' emails????

Question for Atheist Liberals and Christian Conservatives
A question direct at to polar opposite political/religious ideologies thats not intended to start a religious debate. But a social values one.

You are mixing up Darwinism with Social Darwinism... It's not the same thing. Yes most atheists accept Darwinism ( but it is not a rule and you can be an atheist and suggest it happened in some other way, it's unlikely but you can) evolution is not the creed of atheism. Atheism has no creed. Liberals do not say the rich go to he'll and the poor are blessed. Liberals ( as in European Labour parties and mainstream liberals like Democrats in the US) generally say , " wow, the poor have it bad, because of the faulty system that allows the rich the profit regardless of a workers condition, the rich can help the poor... And if the rich don't want to is the failure to change is the same as saying no ) we can make a law that requires them to do so. " this is generally the ideology of liberals, they do not oppose you if you profit (ie if you are rich), they oppose you only if you profit, due to or in spite of someone suffering.
And if this a liberal vs conservative social values question like the original post suggests I think it is clear why some one who is religious would be conservative as it is written in the text that women are inferior, gays and lesbians are abominations, and the mainstream churches fight against abortion. But conservatisism is also often charecterized by exclusivism, and nationalism, and as I have said the religious culture centered around this is right, and everything else is wrong and evil and if you believe it you will burn in hell, this close mindedness often conicides with the close mindedness.

As far as worker exploitation goes, there was a curious case in the German firm of Krupp prior to the first World War. One would think the workers at a huge steelworks and industrial conglomerate would be staunch supporters of the Social Democrats (SPD in Germany)... yet due to their excellent pension and worker welfare programs, Essen was no such thing. Despite Gustav Krupp later becoming a Nazi shithead, he and his father-in-law's social welfare programs show that it is possible to make a profit without exploiting the absolute shit out of your workers. (Granted, Krupp's industrial empire was effectively subsidized by the State due to the immense shipbuilding and armaments business.)

The government wouldn't have to get involved if the workers were actually treated fairly... but the history of the industrial West has a hell of a lot more examples of workers being exploited than being treated fairly.

"Evolution states that the strongest survive"

I don't know if all evolutionary scientists would agree with this point. I have heard a more fitting statement is "Survival of the adequate". You don't have to be the best, you just have to be able to pass on your genes.
Take two men, one is a champion athlete and Rhode scholar and devoted husband and father, the other a welfare cheat who cheats on his wife constantly. One would imagine that the former is the "stronger" while the other might even be physically feeble and a moron. But the fact he sleeps around means that he will might have more opportunity to pass on his genes.

which is the problem with our current system.

Spyman, there is a reason Darwinism should be applied to society, because you will end calling lying cheats and lazy fucks that sleep around better human beings, or more successful. As for survival of the adequate, that is true but the fittest genes will eventually phase out the adequate if everything goes according to plan, and sometimes adequate is good as it gets.

I think Christians tend to be right wing because right wingers hold conservative views on the social issues that are important to most Christians.

communicating outside of a 'no communication' game
My last attack in an anonymous, no in-game communication game was blocked when two countries worked together. I'm not sure how that could happen when there's no way to communicate in game, so it leads me to believe they are communicating outside of the game.
