I predict Fall '11 he dies. The fleet coming down from the north will take it exactly in Fall '11, so he won't have a Spring '12 set of orders.

@Alderian, I'm hardly trying to discuss this game, and didn't plan to say anything else about it except to point it out. All I really did was point out some obvious facts. I don't think putting the link to an ongoing game in a thread does much harm since others know better than to start discussing the game.

I just thought it was a neat example of something theoretically possible, but probably exceptionally rare. Several months ago, I had actually asked around on the forum to see if anyone had seen a purgatory scenario come up before. I think it's really interesting that one has arisen in a high stakes game.

By the way, I think Draugnar's input is really just harmless speculation. However, I do believe in respecting the protocol of not discussing ongoing games in the forums.

Oh, yeah. If I thought any of the info I "leaked" (just call me Julian Assange) would at all compromise the game, I would not have said any of it. It is obvious to even the most green player what is about to happen to poor France, so it was really harmless speculation. How they handle the front is not to be discussed at all.

Fair enough yebellz. My problem is looking at that game at this stage and there is so much that could be said. I may or may not have a different thought on France's predicament, but my thoughts take into consideration the whole board so I really can't say anything about it.

I just wanted to head off anyone else going down the path that I would so like to do.
