You pick winners and you assign confidence points. If there are 32 games, the winner you are most confident about, you put 32 on that game and that's the amount of points you will get if that team wins. For me, I will be getting 32 when my Ducks knock the snot out of Auburn. Also, the game you are least confident about, you wager 1 confidence point. It's run through Yahoo:

I'm putting my 32 on the Ducks, I think, I live in Oregon and got my master of architecture degree from U of O.

Poopr choice MadMarx. Not to say the Ducks aren't great, but that's certainly not going to be the game I think is most likely to go one way. Oklahoma UConn is a more likely outcome like Frank said.

Plus, if I'm close and it comes down to the last game, I want to be able to get 32 from the Ducks, that sounds more exciting to me, especially if I just put 31 on Oklahoma, not too big of a difference for the excitement it would add to the championship game, right?

I started out majoring in math, deciding to not go into engineering because that required a 3-2 program (5 years of undergrad) at my university and I wanted to be done in 4 years. It became clear that a math major was not for me and figured I may want to lean towards accounting or banking or something that still had lots of math, so I switched to Business Econ. After my junior year I helped a guy build his home that summer and realized that I loved residential construction AND that I did not want to work outdoors all year long for the rest of my career and that I should pursue architecture. I didn't know how it would work out, so I finished my degree in Business Econ as a backup plan and applied to architecture school at U of O, mainly because I wanted to stay in Oregon and that was the only school with a program. I did the Option III program, which means you have an undergraduate degree in another field (there were people with biology degrees and other random ones that had pretty much nothing to do with architecture), which required 10 terms, we started in the summer and then 3 full years after that taking only architecture classes (one studio each term, 10 studios total), which means I ultimately turned down a 5 year engineering degree for what ended up being roughly an 8 year master of architecture degree, oops!

Anyway, most architects are crap at business and making money, but hopefully I can one day buck that trend, but it's not looking likely to occur any time soon with this economy.

How does the matching to Kestas work?

Oklahoma almost lost to Cincinnati (two UC fumbles caused UC to lose)... they aren't as solid a pick as you can make. I may have to join... contemplating it... so just picks, not spread?

Let's say 20 people join my pool and I get ~$100 in my PayPal account. I will then donate ~$100 to Kestas from my PayPal account while I write a check to the winner of the pool for ~$100. All money paid into my pool gets paid out as winnings AND all the money that ends up in my PayPal account goes to Kestas.

Hmmm, I hope 100 people don't join my pool, that would get expensive! Maybe I should cap the donation to Kestas based on this pool to $100, that's still not too bad, right?
