Possible Multi account?
I don't think it is right to post the game id, but in one of my games, each player in the ancient med is attacking me. I tried to contact all of them separately 3 times each, and they haven't responded. If that's not enough, they all have the same name, and are logged on at the same time. Thanks!

Favorite Sports Moments
Just a fun little topic...give a few of your favorite sporting moments you've watched or, if you're lucky enough to have actually played, played in your lifetime.
The moments that are just sheer euphoria...and possibly can be YouTubed so we can see how awesome it was (particularly intersted in what our European friends have to say, since I don't know any of those leagues or moments...) :D

Best Kids movie
Doesn't have to be a cartoon, or CGI. Movie that you saw when you were a kid, movie that stands up well today, movie you use to hunt predators, anything goes.

To start things off with nostalgia, for me its definitely The Wizard of Oz, the Judy Garland version (in case there is another). Your thoughts?

Problem with paused game
We have a paused game with a player who has not entered orders, nor voted un pause, nor appeared in the press, and has not being seeing in almost 5 days. The game was a 1 day/turn day, and the rest of us have already voted un pause. What can we do to resume the game? Is there any other way to unpause the game?

Help me troubleshoot: Site loading slow today?
Is this site loading slow today or is it just my computer? It keeps opening up multiple instances of Java and I am getting huge delays when trying to type.
I've tried to delete Java and then reinstall a fresh copy but no luck.
Thanks for any and all help.

Favourite musical act?
Not "The Best of All-Time" or "The Hippest Indie Shit". Post your favourite musical act(s)

Prince - Personally, I've always been a fan of Prince. He's had some decent music over the years and I'm an 80s man, so I gotta root for one of the decade's defining acts. Let's Go Crazy, Kiss, Purple Rain.

Rolling Stones - A lot of people are a little on edge when you mention The Rolling Stones. They either think that it must be 100% hard rock with nothing but the guitar, drums and bass featuring, or they think of Hell's Angels. Well The Rolling Stones have released some top-quality singles and Sticky Fingers. Need I say more?

Coldplay - I can hear the booty music worshippers from a mile away. Coldplay is my favourite band from the last ten years. Yes, a good percentage of their library is melancholy shit, but a couple of those songs are GOOD melancholy shit. Yellow, Clocks, Fix You, Violet Hill, Strawberry Swing and Death And All His Friends come to mind

The Beatles - Yes, I'm aware I said this wasn't the best bands of all time list. But Paul, John, George and Ringo have released some of my favourite songs. Yesterday, Strawberry Fields Forever, In My Life, Hey Jude, Dear Prudence and Because are all some of the most recognizable or best songs ever.

AFI

Kansas - Quite enjoyable mix of instrumentation. Great orchestral rock band.

Jethro Tull - There just aren't that many bands that can boast gold records in each of four consecutive decades. Stable and entirely underrated.

Molly Hatchet - Blackfoot probably beat them out with musicality but Danny Joe Brown's "HELLLLLL YEAH!" is an icon of southern rock from the 70's & 80's. Loved the Frank Frazetta album covers too.

^props, im listening to decemberists too. which album?
Rancher (1652 D(S))
17 Dec 10 UTC
@Durial321 -- I own all of The Decemberists' releases. I particularly like "The Crane Wife" and "The Tain". All are good in my book though.
Depending upon my mood, Pink Floyd, the Jimi Hendrix Experience, Nirvana, the Beastie Boys, or Public Enemy are all possible answers I would give.

Coldplay fucking suck. They are one of the worst, most over-rated bands ever. They're nearly as annoying as Kid Rock, and that's pretty damn annoying. I hate them and want them to die.

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart (IT'S MOZART!)

;)

And Notable Mention to Georges Bizet and to Gilbert and Sullivan...who I can just never get out of out of my head!

What, never?

And jsut because I'm caffeinated and love to type:

My Top 10 Musical Numbers...Across ALL Genres!

-"Votre Toast" (The Toreador Song) from Georges Bizet's "Carmen"
-The Polonaise from Pytor Tchaikovsky's "Eugene Onegin"
-The 1812 Overture (Full Piece) by Pytor Tchaikovsky
-"Hey Jude" by The Beatles
-"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band/With A Little Help From My Friends" by The Beatles
-"I'm Called Little Buttercup" from Gilbert and Sullivan's "HMS Pinafore"
-"I've Got A Little List" from Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Mikado"
-"Con Onor Muore" (To Die With Honor/The End) from Puccini's "Madama Butterfly"
-"Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (A Little Night Music) by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart
-"Moonlight Sonata" by Ludwig van Beethoven

Notes:

*The Beatles, Tchaikovsky, and Gilbert and Sullivan have the most on the list with two each
*All of my favorite composers have a work on the lsit--Tchaikovsky, as my favorite, has two--but only the Fab Four have a Top 10 out of my Bands...favorite songs from the other two, Stones and Queen, would be "Paint It Black" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" (which ALMOST makes the list...call it #11) respectively...

If you ahve never listened to ANY of those...do so. Now. Like NOW. :)

Here, I'll help you out--the end to "Madama Butterfly" (four and a half minutes...TRY adn tell me that's not powerful stuff!) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25qOY9cwz88

And then the Polonaise from "Eugene Onegin" (Seriously, if I had to pick theme music for my life, this would be it! This is really the closest a piece of music has ever come to capturing my feelings about the world and life and even myself...the Waltz from this same opera also is right up that alley...) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=19lJZGzOeEg&feature=related

And then, yes, the BEST triumph music ever..."Votre Toast" by Bizet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OqEn57tVA1s

1. Pink Floyd - the true masters of classic rock
2. Diorama - Beat meets melody and atmosphere in the best modern Electrogoth/EBM/Darkwave band of today.
3. Diary of Dreams - Classic electrogoth/darkwave band similar to Diorama
4. Marilyn Manson - the darkest metal voice
5. The Cure - my favorite new wave band

I like any thread in which Meat Loaf, Megadeth and Mozart (the 3Ms of the musical apocalypse?) appear in consecutive posts.

I have eclectic (some have said terrible) taste. Favorite acts:

DDT: One of the great Russian rock bands.
Dire Straits/Mark Knopfler
Roger Miller
George Michael
ABBA
Cyndi Lauper

How interesting... France has remained in this game for the past few years, but with only one SC (non-home) and zero units. So he's just waiting in purgatory until someone puts him out of his misery.

I am in the process of planning the 2011 Masters' tournament. The scoring system will be altered to give 4 D for a win, and one point for a draw.

I am considering awarding no points for draws with 5, 6 or 7 players. What are people's opinions on the idea?
