What is a process cycle?
I have been jumping into some live games and when 7 players join the "game will start on next process cycle" notice comes up. Usually this is no big deal. I just jumped into one that doesn't start for 1:35. When does the process cycle come up?

Avatar the movie
Awesome, simply awesome. I saw it in 2 D first and was so impressed I went back to see it in 3 D. It is fantastic. The 3 D effects extend to the computer displays the characters are using - they have depth too. And what appeared to be "normal" photos on a wall in the 2 D version were given depth too. Amazing!

Variant Map Discussions
Where is the best place to go to discuss variant maps, either the variant itself or the implementation? If we're testing out the variant maps, it would make sense to have somewhere to go to discuss issues with the implementation or the variant itself.

The Quibble With Christians
WHY, whenever on this site or in real life, when I ask a Christian to talk about ANYTHING philosophical, be it anything about God,HOW and IF you can know something, Free Will, How We Should Run A State... ANYTHING... They always, ALWAYS fall back on the dogma, can't leave it aside for two seconds! "God works in mysterious ways"= BIG cop out!

Team Canada (World Cup) organizing
Time to organize final team submissions to represent Canada. Details inside.
So 15 players signed up on the earlier thread to play in the World Cup representing Canada. Here are the IDs, the region, and the ghost rankings based:

13 BoG75, Toronto
34 Centurian, Ontario
68 Plastic Hussar, Ontario
72 DerekHarland, Toronto

124 Geofram, Toronto
413 mapleleaf, Toronto
614 SunZi, Alberta
676 guy~~,BC

1300 ILN, Toronto
1475 cujo8400, Ontario
5877 Kyrios, Ontario
8149 superkeiko, BC
10457 Skies, Toronto

So we have four players from the top 100 on the site (by current ghost rating), four more from the top 1000, and five others.

I was thinking that the first four players could be one team (the "A" team), and then we could send the second four in as the second Canadian team, or rearrange to have an Ontario team, and a Rest of Canada team from the second and third groups.

Thoughts?

=(
Wish you had used all-time ratings.

I don't mind whichever way it goes. But I'd rather not be some kind of substitute, if I'm participating, it's got to be a game(s) from start to finish, and not some kind of sitter.

And when you say make an Ontario team, you realise that Toronto is the heart of Ontario yes? Meaning only 3 players are not from Ontario.

Geofram,

If you want to look up the all time GRs and post, we could see how it affects the team.
As for Toronto, I was pretty sure it was in Ontario :)
I was tracking it separately in case we wanted to do a Toronto team.
As for "ROC," I agree that we are a player short, so probably need someone from Ontario to change sides.

There are both London and England teams.
Centurian (3257 D)

I don't know who is running this, but the leagues and GFDT and the like have near constant drop-outs. So we should have two teams at most, with potential alternates. If you want to seperate that into T dot and not T dot, thats fine, although I think "eh" team and "b" team would be a lot better.

damian: could you post your Ghost rating, please?
damian (675 D)

Present or all time? I'll give both so you have them. Jan rating: 309 All time: 295

Toronto Team please. ROC hates us, as we all know.......
On the question of alternates, that shouldn't be an issue, since each player just plays one game (except the gunboat player).

How's this for the team breakdown:

Toronto team:
13 BoG75,
72 DerekHarland,
124 Geofram,
413 mapleleaf,

Canada team:
34 Centurian,
68 Plastic Hussar,
309 damian,
614 SunZi,

Yo, I can be on either Toronto team or Canada team if someone backs out....I was born in Toronto and went to university...I'm Torontonian at heart :)

Sounds fine with me. Though I feel bad for the people who didn't get to make the cut...
So if no one objects, I think we should register these two teams. Since I have put myself on the Canada team, I can handle the admin side (which makes me the "captain" in name only). Can the other three players on the team please PM me with their email accounts, and preference for type of game? I will then finalize through email discussion.

For the Toronto team, someone needs to volunteer to look after the registration etc.

Sorry, but we already have more Canadians than can fit on two teams.

we are going to allow more than two teams for this years tourny. we want as many teams as possible. so the more the better!

ik but the midwest told me i gotta find three more people.....
Okay, so based on the note above, the other Canadians who expressed interest should also appoint a captain and register. They included:

guy~~,BC
ILN, Toronto
cujo8400, Ontario
Kyrios, Ontario
superkeiko, BC
Skies, Toronto
