Whatever the motivations, this is a reprehensible act, and we should mourn with those affected by this violence and condemn the perpetrators. I got hit by a pickup truck going about 5 mph while biking a couple weeks ago, and that wasn't much fun. I can't even imagine intentionally hitting bikers at 40 mph, or the amount of pain and damage that would cause.
