Wow. I got absolutely trounced this month.

My Gunboat GR only improved by 705? Amazing what two wins and not constantly drawing Austria can do...

I suspect there is something wrong with the script HR, at least for 1v1 rankings. As it claims I had a -94 change in rank but I'm now 74th in 1v1 Elo. For that change in rank to be true I'd have needed to be somehow ahead of rank one.

Something to fix in ghugs code when one of you has a spare evening.

@Damian, the "Change Rank" column has a negative sign in front of the entire column. That means increase in ranks will be negative and decreases will be positive. Certainly something to fix.

Yeah, I figured it was probably something to that effect when I saw people with a change in rank of -444 in the top 100. xD

GR was always broken. Should probably have a separate option for playing with friends like playdip does.

World Cup had all my attention last month and they're all unranked so I'll have to settle for unrewarded glory and otherwise rest on my laurels.

Yeah, playing mostly unranked tends to hurt your GR :)

My 1v1 score is all about the tournament. Haven't played any other 1v1s.

To answer a few questions:
My link is shorter and suppresses evidence of our corporate overlords.

Categories in general and FP especially suffer from small sample sizes. When everyone's closer together, you rise more than you should beating shit players. I got up there legitimately though. :P

There's a fixed 1v1 script somewhere. I'll be back to a computer next month and then everything will be alright.

It would be great to get a Universal Ranking which took into account all Diplomacy sites, but it's impossible for a number of reasons. For one, people have different usernames across sites so there's no way to link players on different sites to user accounts unless its all done manually.

The biggest issue is almost certainly that one of the largest Dip sites, PlayDiplomacy, actually hides its rankings behind a paywall, so I can't imagine they'd be particularly happy to allow other people to give out that information for free.

I am amazed by the GR of the 1v1... There are many other players much better than me. How is this GR calculated precisely ?

It's gonna take time for 1v1 to stabilize too. Our top player currently has the equivalent of a mid 1600s rating in chess. People are all still climbing.

@Carebear - I guess I should have been more specific. If you're not a paying member, you cannot search for any individual player's rating (the search box appears but if you try to search you get the message 'This information is for premium members only'). It makes figuring out seeding for multi-site tournaments a real hassle; I had to ask a PlayDip Premium Member for assistance in order to sort it out for the 1v1 Showdown.

Trying to find a person among 17,000 rated players by going through pages of 25 at a time is horrendous. My point is that this is clearly intentional - they're attempting to make people buy Premium to view anyone elses' rating - so they would not be happy about a system that made it available to view for free.

Do passworded games impact GR?
